Attacking Congress is not the way

In my last article, I explained my approach and why I voted for the reduction of the Work Tax to 2%.

Now we see another proposal, this time to take the tax down to 1%. While the minimum level of work tax is my policy, we really ought to measure the impact of the latest change before discussing or proposing a further reduction. A week should be sufficient for this and the arguments are already in circulation. Accordingly, I have voted against the new proposal.

What does not help matters is an article attacking Congress for the proposals. These are the province of Congress and are catered for in the game mechanics, which are paramount. The proposal limit for individual members of Congress prevents abuse of the in-game rights.

It is fine for a leading light of the country to give his opinion on the tax question but the Congress as a whole should not be criticised for exercising its mandate. There are five parties supplying Congress members and each of them are entitled to have their own policies and have their members speak and act freely. A party with a low tax policy that has several elected members in Congress is going to use Congress to advance this policy.

All that I ask is prudence and common sense. Let us see what happens with the last change before considering another.
