Day 1,607, 03:02 Published in India India by Uv Ajed

Thought of the Day -"Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment."

Greetings my fellow Democrats, eIndians & eRepublikans,
My heart is filled with exuberance as I put forth the party's performance report from 15th March 2012 to 15th April 2012 i.e. during my tenure as the Party President of the Democratic Party of India. The report has been specifically created to provide an insight into the working of the party as per the new policies, promises & plans initiated by us in accordance to the previous poll agenda & manifesto.

1. Membership of DPI: The party strength of DPI went up by 20 members. During the beginning of my tenure the Party had a membership strength of 64 party members, which went up to 84 party members; thanks to the recruitment effort by Exibot, Troj4n20, Alector, Miles, Arawn, Dushyanth & others. This feat was achieved by sending out recruitment mails to over 100 new players, mentoring them and helping them to become a loyal & respected citizen of eIndia. What made the whole process more enticing was the fact that, unlike some other parties, the whole deed was accomplished without any means of force, but through honesty, respect & veneration, the very foundation on which the party's principles of Democracy, Liberty & Nationalism are laid.

2. Party Machinery: As per our promise of "Power to one & all" and the mantra of democracy, "For the People, Of the People & By the People", several new posts were created within the party to make the whole gameplay more enjoyable and to promote the high level of activity among eIndians. While many posts were implemented successfully, several posts couldn't justify the role and were considered "useless". Keeping up with the promise of an ever evolving change to improve the eRepublik experience, some of these posts stand to be abolished in the future, while several others are deemed to be implemented.

Here's a short overview of what should stay & what shouldn't:

Positions to stay

a. Senior Politburo to stay: creation of Senior Politburo, an elite group of experienced party members, who would act as the guardian & mentor to the party turned out to be hugely successful.
b. General Secretary to stay: The role of General Secretary who acts as the head of the Senior Politburo was efficaciously carried out by Exibot.
c. Party treasurer to stay: Dushyanth carried out the role of the treasurer very efficiently as the party succeeded in building a strong Party Treasury or Bank through a generous donation from the party members.
d. Award Committee to stay: The award committee successfully selected Mekong & Marie as the "Democrats of the Month" for their outstanding contribution to the party. The award committee would continue it's function of selecting the "Democrat of the Month", an award, carrying a prize money of 1 Gold, given to the Best Party member of the Month.

Position to go away

e. Regional Presidents to go away: The post didn't live up to it's purpose i.e. of collection of election data for the respective region & recruitment/mentoring of new members and stands to be done away with, for good. Instead the role given to 16 members has to be transferred over to new party positions created specifically for the purpose.

Suggestion for New Positions to be created

f. Recruitment Officers - 4 Nos.: The Recruitment Officers will serve the purpose of recruiting new party workers & mentoring them.
g. Party Election Commissioners - 3 Nos.: The Party Election Commissioners will take up the duty of collecting regional data(previous vote tally, expected votes needed to win, etc.) for congress & presidential elections. They will be actively involved in election campaigning for the official candidate endorsed by the party for the Congress & the Country President. They will work closely with the Party President & EC, to arrange votes for the official candidates. They will also look into possible PTO attempts and act as the Party's Official Representative to the ATO Initiative by the Government of eIndia.

3. Congress Election: Out of the 9 official candidates, 7 managed to get elected into the congress. The total congress tally after the end of the election turned out to be 8 which was 1 less than the February - March congress election. Many have attributed the same to the turkish PTO attempt and the weapon for vote scam, but the considerable damage suffered by the party due to a decline in its share in the congress is something that needs to be looked into and improved in the coming future.

The dream & the idea that I shared with you once, is still young and yet to be completely achieved.
The faith & the hope that you all have showered on me, is something that i'll cherish forever & be ever grateful for.
The spirit & the determination to succeed that you all have illustrated, is all, that eIndia & DPI needs to succeed & keep moving forward, towards a glorious destiny that awaits us.
With your support and our dream I would like to put forth my Party President re-election bid to continue the journey, we started together, on the path of the road less traveled, on the path of Eccentricity, on the path of Serendipity and on the path of Hope.

For
the Party President
of the

Regards

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
