[UK CP] Updates

Day 3,205, 03:10 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by 10 Downing Street

Good morning eUK, happy Bank Holiday to all of you.

As you will have noticed the dictators in eUK and eUSA have proposed laws to unset each other as Natural Enemy:

eUK’s law
eUSA’s law

There were several reasons for bringing the training war to a close, including that the MoD team suggested that the resistance wars were becoming harder for us to win, and the MoFA received information that a hostile nation was planning to attack us. The decision was therefore taken to terminate the training war and defend ourselves with all our energies in the event of a serious attack, or to focus on the genuine wars of our allies if no invasion materialises. I’d like to thank the US government for their cooperation for the duration of the month’s training war and for respecting our wishes when we asked to end it. The Minister of Foreign Affairs has published an article here and the US vice president here.

At home there has been a lot of discussion taking place regarding the state of democracy in the eUK. For a long time our country was really vulnerable to being taken over by hostile foreign military units, as was demonstrated when MEK decided to have some fun at our expense. Fortunately they didn’t have really malicious intent but it was a valuable lesson for the nation, and steps were taken by the government to ensure it wouldn’t happen again. A defensive military coup led by UK citizens installed Mr Woldy as dictator, who pushed the buttons according to the will of congress and the president. Rules and regulations were drawn up with a lot of effort from some people, and the system worked well to protect eUK. However with changes from Plato raising the price of a coup to 1,000,000 cc, the likelihood of hostile groups of people looking to take over smaller countries has decreased significantly, and there was growing dissatisfaction in congress and the wider population with the “benign dictator” model. In my view we have to be aware that no system of government is perfect; each brings with it its own set of flaws. Total democracy leads to rogue Natural Enemy laws which can damage relations with other countries, impeachment laws which aren’t properly discussed which mean no further attempt at impeachment can be attempted for 7 days even if the president is run over by a bus etc, etc. It’s important therefore that we work together and talk about what we want and what is best for the whole country, so please make your opinions known to congressmen, political party leaders, cabinet members and myself. In case you want to read up on some of your compatriots’ opinions here is a short list of articles worth reading:

If you have any ideas or any questions about the form of government in eUK, don’t hesitate to ask.

Internationally the UK has been involved in plans to create a new alliance. The project is largely based on the Nexus alliance which was approved by a majority of the UK population, so I hope that an updated version will enjoy the support of the vast majority of you all. Any new MPPs will of course be subject to the approval of congress, whatever system of government we are operating under as the changes take place.

We repaid in full the amount of money we owed to Spain dating over two months back when Spain requested that we airstrike their regions. Game mechanics meant that we could not help them as required, so congress took the decision this month to repay our allies. You can see the repayment here.

Finally I'd like to apologise for a lack of articles from the president and not keeping the public informe😛 because a lot of business this month has meant keeping the confidentiality of our allies and potential allies I got into a bad habit of communicating only to congress. You deserve more information and I'm sorry that I have failed on that front.
