[TUP] Final Thoughts

Day 1,914, 23:55 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by The Equalist

As I am now in the final moments of my tenure as PP, I want to quickly thank everyone for a great two months. While all the goals that I set out my not have been achieved, overall I think it is safe to say that it has been a success. Over the past couple of months, we have built strong inter-party alliances and improved relations with everyone overall, which was one of my main priorities. We have managed to hold a noticeable presence in government, through both Congress and the Cabinet. I am glad to see that overall, there has been more inter-party connections within government. We cannot afford the polarization that sometimes characterizes our government, as it is ultimately harmful to the people. I hope that we can continue to provide a strong, effective government in which all people can take a part of.

I should apologize for my lack of activity recently. While I was able to do all the important stuff which usually happens in the first couple of weeks into a term, I know I may have left some people in the dark as of recently. My endeavors in real life have prevented me to be as active here as I or others would like. But obviously, we all should take note that this is merely a game in a virtual world. Real life is where I am needed, and I have been heavily involved in improving the community and university I am at through progressivism and direct action.

Does this mean the end of me on eRepublik? The short answer is no. I will still be around, just taking a more advisory role and less active. Oh, and there still is that Congress stuff to deal with. But depending on how certain events turn out in real life over the coming weeks will directly impact the ammount of time a can allocate to this place. But I am sure you can understand that making the real world a better place is a far noble and beneficial cause that wasting time arguing with others about things that don't really exist here.

I am happy to see that activity within TUP has increased over recent weeks. I have noticed an increase in people getting involved in the forums, and if memeroy serves me correctly, we had more first time candidates for Congress in this term compared to the last. No one wanted to run for Party President last month (perhaps no one was willing to challenge me), but I am happy to see people have taken up to the plate. While there can only be one winner, I am sure that the other candidates will have important positions in the party as we progress into the future.

So this is goodbye, sort of, for now. Good luck to the new party president. For equality!
