[TTH] Why I left the eUS Forum

There are many reasons I hate the eUS Forums, not the least of which is it gives control over game taxes to an outside group most of whom don't even play eRepublik anymore. Yes, I place a huge amount of blame on the 'Bully Boys', however, there is someone I blame even more. Plato.

Yes, Plato and his updates. Starting with the roll back of eRepublik Rising. That to me is the single biggest blunder he ever made, listening to his Plastic Cowboy citizens who are either long gone or have stopped buying. Second to that would have to be the ill conceived and poorly executed eRepublik Forum. For starters where the puke is the PRIVATE Congressional Subforums for each country? Had these forums been better supported outside forums such as the eUS Forums -which allows 19 citizens who barely play eRepublik to rule the game would not exist. Another was instead of basing elections on regions they became based on easily controlled parties were the Party President sets their Congressional Slate.

So just off the top of my head here are a few more.

Reason One: eUS Constitution and Congressional Principles

'I. Governing Principle:
The two branches of government are the Executive and Congress. The branches conduct themselves based on how they and the Code define their internal and external procedures.


II. Congressional Principles:
1. Congress shall organize itself as it sees fit.

2. Congress controls the nation's money, holds authority and responsibility over allocation of tax revenue, and shall take under advisement expert opinion from the executive and military.

3. Any citizen or organization receiving funds from congress should employ those funds as indicated in the budget or funding request approved by congress.

4. In the case the eUS has no regions and there will be no in game congress, a shadow congress shall be created. Each party will keep the same number of congress members as they received the previous month. The Party President of each non-PTO Top 5 Party will create a list of their members to be given congressional access. Congress will then continue as it normally would.'

This reason is the most important and the so called first Congressional Principle is the most harmful to America. That one sentence allows the eUS Forum Cabal to do as they please and is the most cited reason for doing something no one else supports.

The second Principle allows the meta-government to request $4 million dollars every ten days or $12 million every month to be added to a Reserve that is in the 10's of millions of dollars.

Principle #3 isn't even followed by the very body whose principle it is and who placed themselves in charge of taxes. They refuse to even account for funding given to the Department of Citizen Affairs let alone account for millions stashed away in the accounts of private citizens instead of placing it in a publically viewable account like the Congressional Budget Office organization.

Principle #4 allows the meta-government to do exactly what they have done currently...to create a 'Shadow Government'. Sure we are not wiped but 2 of the Top 5 parties have walked out declaring they will not abide by meta-congressional rules. Pretty sure this Principle will be the one used to defend what they have done.

Reason Two: Meta-Congress

In the most recent Congressional election, 55 citizens were elected to Congress. Only 19 bothered to sign in -one member was counted twice- which is how they set the quorum at 11. 19 out of 20 from the BSP and SFP elected to walk out of Congress. Which means 18 members from the Feds/USWP/WTP did not sign in. 9 of the Feds 15 elected members showed up. 6 of the 13 USWP members and 2 of the 7 from the WTP and 1 member of the BSP also signed in. That is 18 of 35 elected to Congress by the Fed/USWP/WTP Cabal...that is 18 no shows -almost half their elected delegation.

My question is, 'Are the 18 no shows multis or just citizens who simply wanted to get 5 gold without earning it or are they being paid to simply not show up on the eUS Forums?'

So right now through the meta-government America is being ruled by 19 citizens. Those 19 citizens aren't even a majority of those elected to Congress let alone a majority of Americans.

'1.1: Quorum

1.11: Definition of a Quorum
A Quorum, the minimum number of votes necessary for any measure to become law whether those votes are “yes” votes, “no” votes, or abstentions.

1.12: Requirement for Quorum to have been deemed reached
Quorum size shall be based on a weekly sign-in thread on the forum -a quorum. If the number of sign-ins is odd, then quorum is half that number rounded up to the nearest integer. If the number of sign-ins is even, then quorum is half that number plus 1.'

Currently, the quorum is set by the above meta-government rule which creates something, not in game mechanics -a quorum. This entire section should be stricken from the Constitution but at least instead of the quorum being set by those who show up if it was automatically set at half of those elected to Congress -in this case, that would have been 28- then it would force parties to run candidates who are going to at least show up for sign-in and votes if they do nothing else.

Reason Three: Censure and Blacklist

Permanent Congressional Blacklist

Both of these are forms of Congressional punishment and serve no other purpose than to run citizens out of Congress. Censure is the least offensive since most times it is only for the remainder of a members term. Blacklisting is used to remove citizens from participating in the Meta-Congress permanently. It is how the eUS Forum Cabal has managed to create laws which allow 19 of them to rule America. Even some of the most prominent members of that Cabal are against Blacklisting and yet it happens almost monthly. This took place in the current Meta Congress, [VOTE] Blacklist Phil Harmony. IMO this was accomplished because the quorum was set so low and done at a time when America is led by a 'Congressional Majority' which isn't even half of Meta-Congress let alone a majority of America citizens.


Reason Four: Leadership

Terrible leadership like ex-President Pfeiffer Period who defected to the enemy during a national crisis and who -when America was invaded- fought against American Troops in American Core Regions, who then circumvented IES by sneaking his citizenship through using a Congressional Member to rubber stamp it in the dead of night. Leaders who condone homophobic, racial, sexist attacks on anyone who stands against them. Leaders like Gnilraps, who I recently accused of inciting Revolution and basically turning his back on the in-game majority who elected him Country President as a Socialist Freedom Party member on a 'No Dictator for a month' platform.

It is well known the SFP was and still is against Dictatorships of any kind including the Dictatorship of the eUS Forum especially since it resides outside eRepublik. Gnilraps, in order to obtain the endorsement of his own party, campaigned on a platform that was not accepted by the eUS Forum Cabal of the Feds/USWP. However, the in-game voting majority elected Gnilraps and almost immediately after the election, a Revolution was started by Bear Cavalry. That very same day proceedings were started to Blacklist any who took part in the revolt in any manner to include finical support of the revolting Military Unit. Since the Bear Cavalry received the generous support of the members of SFP many who supported the BC were Blacklisted -including Party President Jude Connors- for their finical support of BC prior to the revolt.

There was even a discussion about impeaching Gnilraps, that is until he publicly crawfished his way out by turning his back on the in-game voting majority and the very party who got him elected. Was this a backroom political move to essentially Blacklist an entire party? You would have to ask Gnilraps that question but the optics to me would seem to indicate that yes this was a move by the Dictatorial eUS Forum Cabal to get an entire party who they strongly disagree with Blacklisted.

Sorry but that is not leadership.

Since I have always encouraged partaking of all game features at your disposal I want to encourage those 1000+ citizens to join the Revolution and get out the vote!
