[MoIA] Building from the Bottom Up

Greetings eCanada, I'm your Minister of Internal Affairs for the Sept.-Oct. term and I'd like to lay out for you a few of the goals I'll be pursuing this month. As MoIA I'm tasked with the duty of reaching out to new players, educating them on the basics of the game and cultivating them into informed, active and productive members of our community.

One of the greatest problems countries face when it comes to retaining and educating new players is seeking out and tracking them within the first days of them joining. There are various methods such as sifting through MU rosters trying to spot newcomers but it's inevitable that many slip through the cracks.

The idea of an MU as an academy for new players has had some legs on the forum of late. For those unfamiliar with the concept basically you have an MU intended to take in new players, match them up with mentors, provide them with instruction and link them to tutorials (such as this one from Plugson), give advice and assistance with early financial steps and maybe most importantly track there progress from there very first day in the game. In my opinion for an MU training academy to be effective we must use the only resource we have for immediate contact with new players, that being the welcome message, and use it to funnel them to the academy. If it can be worded in such a way as to imply it's what they are supposed to do rather than just one of many options I think we would have an effective "instant tracking tool" for new sign ups. Of course this is something that I will have to bring to congress and I intend to shortly.

Now before we get all tied up in a funding debate let me say that I will be asking for nothing from congress in terms of funding for this project. I intended to go ahead with this project regardless of weather or not I was named MoIA so this will go on as a privately funded initiative. I'll be purchasing the MU with my personal funds as well and covering all costs associated with the academy.



I give you "Boomers Academy" and this😁 is the first thing that has to go. The image above is a placeholder and currently the avatar for the academy. I hate it and I'm appealing to you for help in designing the new logo.

Entries Must:

- contain three images (an avatar, an MU border and an article banner)
- banner must contain the words Boomers Academy
- avatar and border are up to your discretion
- be received within 72 hours of this article being published

PM me with links to your entries and the winning designer will be notified at the end of the 72 hour timeline and have their work published in my next article.
