[MoCHE] Culture Day + 7th Annual eJapan Culture Awards (Nominations)

Day 3,289, 19:42 Published in Japan Russia by shirosakura

Hello everyone! As part of President Gergely07's campaign to encourage the cultural growth and diversity of our nation, I've decided to accompany Her Imperial Majesty Empress Oraizan in encouraging the cultural growth and player vitality in eJapan. I'm happy to do what I can to support eJapan!

Culture Day (Bunka no Hi, or 文化のひ) was created on November 3, 1948 to commemorate the announcement of the then-new Japanese constitution, but the roots of this holiday extend far into Meiji-era Japan. In 1868, it became to be celebrated as Emperor Meiji's birthday, but was de-emphasized as a holiday after his death and Imperial Japan's defeat in World War II. Today, Culture Day is used to honor all aspects of art, culture and history, and it's very common to see cultural festivals or exhibitions occur on this day as well.

In eJapan, this holiday's roots can be traced back to Day 714, when it was announced by Dareru Danoshi in their paper Akabeko Advent to honor those who have made significant cultural contributions to eJapan. Some of the events were a showcasing of artistic talents of the eJapanese, a prize raffle, and most notably the awarding of the Order of Culture, an award given by the reigning monarch to the people who have had the most impact in arts and culture in the country. Over time our culture day celebrations have evolved into what we now celebrate as our Culture Awards and once again, it's that time of year to honor those who have made an impact in out country.

The Cultural Awards were made to honor those in the eJapanese community who have had a significant impact on the culture and overall life in eJapan, and to recognize those who continue to work so hard for our country. Regardless of the divisions that have come so much to define us, and the issues that divide our nation, it's stil important today to support our cultural traditions. And with that, I introduce you to the categories (and the rules):

1) Both citizens and expatriates (former citizens) will be allowed to vote if they have lived in eJapan in the past year, as long as they are alive.
2) Each citizen may nominate only one person for each category.
3) Campaigning for nominations is allowed.
4) Nominations will begin once this article is released, and will end on November 24, midnight eRep time. Voting article will begin afterwards.
5) Ballots are secret and submitted via a Google form. Please do not vote or nominate in the comment section or via PM to anyone in the MoCHE team. It won't be counted.
