[JS PP-Election] For the Future, Announcing my Campaign!

Day 3,270, 08:34 Published in Japan Russia by shirosakura

It's election time again 😁;. I want to officially announce my intention to run for Party President of Jimmin Sensen.

Before I begin, I just want to say that my intentions behind running for party president are noble. It is not important to me that I do or do not win, but rather I want to shine light on my beleifs and the vision I have for eJapan and the Jimmin Sensen. In the event I do win, I intend to work with the current party leadership and other active members to guide the party in the path outlined in my platform, together. It is my desire to seek a gentler Jimmin Sensen, one in a position where its united membership are poised to reap the benefits of a potentially peaceful eJapan. It is because of this that I offer my campaign for party president as a referendum to the members of Jimmin Sensen, and I encourage everyone who believes in my vision to join me on my journey to join me our march into the future.

My personal eBio

I was born in the eUS on an alternate account, around Day 550 (June 2009) of the new world. World War III (the war between PEACE and Atantis) I was simply a foot soldler in the now defunct eUS army, and because I hadn't really been introduced to anything but that, I spent most of my time fighting for the eUS and studying International Relations until I lost interest in the game. About a year and half ago however, and with a lot more political and IRL IR theory and practice under my belt, I rejoined the game in eJapan after remembering how much fun this country has been during my early days in the game. After joining however, I dedicated myself to trying to create change and heal the deep wounds that were beginning to form in that nation. My hope is that eJapan can be as fun as ever one day, for everyone.

Since my time here, I've served as the Minister of Culture and History as well as a repeat congressman and Party President of the now-defunct United Lolies of Japan. I've also participated in numerous domestic affiars conversation, the most major of which was the Sakura Constituion, which I will discuss later.

Now, on to the real meat:

My Platform

Increased Cooperation with the Coalition Parties

The lynchpin of my campaign, and the reason I have felt so compelled to run , is that I seek a softening relations with the coalition parties, a detente of sorts to speak. We have entered an unprecedented time in eJapan when both sides of our civil war have decided to sit down and help accomplish real change in eJapan, and over the past month we've opened the door to finally ending this conflict by restarting negotiations with the coalition. Progress may be slow, and the direct result of negotiations may not be known for months. But I believe that swiftly bringing an end to the battles will provide a quick and speedy end to the civil war.

Furthermore, both sides of this conflict are currently pouring a large amount of resources into armaments and stockpiling the money needed to support an army for this conflict. While the beginning of negotiations won't mark the end of hostilities, there will hopefully be a point in the future where the collective strength of the Jiyuu Nippon Gun could be put towards other endeavors, such as protecting the country.

I believe these reforms are overall essential for my next point...

Supporting Democracy in Any Form

The goal of Jimmin Sensen, as it was for the parties that have come before it, was and has always been the support of democracy in eJapan. This has, and will remain, the main goal of Jimmin Sensen. However, in order to have a cohesive and operable government, we must continue to make strides to bring together both sides of our fractured nation into a cohesive setting where the ideals of democracy can be nursed and nurtured. This is why I'm announcing my support for the formation of a Constitutional Dictatorship in eJapan.

A true constitutional dictatorship is marked by its full and total simulation of democracy. In a constitutional dictatorship, the dictator (or the Shogun, as I prefer to call them) is simply a figurehead, a pencil pusher that exists solely to execute the will of the people. The powers now delegated to the Shogun would be returned to their respective parties, as set by a hypothetical constitution or a country president.

This system is not new, and is one I tried to propose a year ago. However, Something our western counterparts managed to realize a long time ago is that instead of the back and forth that would inevitably result as one side being for democracy and one being for dictatorship, a government could be crafted that reaped the benefits of both systems. However, this system is built on an unspoken social contract, a massive layer of trust in each other and the ultimate rule of law that in the end keeps the balance in the government, something essential if this country is ever to see true democracy.

One and half years since the Warring States Period began and much longer than that since eSerbian and eHungarian immigration began in earnest to our country, it's time to accept that our land is a melting pot of demographics and cultures, and that our citizens do not deserve the disservice of not being part of our future. Furthermore, the only way we have a chance at true democracy in the future is if we can prove to each other we have the integrity necessary for both of use to exist in a democratic society, as well as to protect our land from foreign invasions and takeovers. A constitutional dictatorship would be an unprecedented step in ensuring our country has a better future.

Continued Support of Party-Member Relations

Over the past couple of months and with every continued experiment in democracy our nation experiences, we often see a bump in activity due to increased immigration and the kind of activity free government tends to inspire, and one of the results of that has been increased communication with our party members over the current and party events, usually though in-game messages. It is my hope to not only continue this system, but also to expand it with weekly "kotatsu chats," where once a week (at a scheduled time), I and other leaders of the party would hope to discuss and debate the current events of the party over Discord. I think this would be an excellent way to keep busier party member in the loop on discussions they may have missed, and a way to increase party camaraderie and friendship as well.

Support Cultural Day!

Tomorrow (in just a few hours RL Japan time), IRL Japan will celebrate the 48th annual 文化の日 (bunka no hi) Culture Day, a day set aside to showcase and honor Japan's art, music, humanities, and the cultural contributions made by others. This is also an ancient eJapanese Holiday, as seven years ago our nation celebrated it's first occurence of this holiday. Whether I'm successful with the party election or not, I plan to work with Her Highness the Empress of eJapan and the Ministry of Culture and History to organize our yearly festival over the month of November.

Once again, I just want to say my intentions are not to initiate a takeover, but rather to forge a new path for the party that hopefully brings us together and makes us stronger than ever in the future. If you too share the vision I have for Jimmin Sensen and eJapan, I encourage you to join me on my journey to carry the country into the future.
