[GOVT] Statement on The End of our TW
Dante Boss
Citizens of the Republic,
Over the past few days there has been a lot of heat, debate and anger regarding our training war that we were operating with the United States of America. The work as manager feature was removed from many of our citizens who had their holdings placed in the region of Cork which was without malicious intent, taken from Ireland on at least three occasions.
New game mechanics state "When the Country of citizenship of the manager is in direct war with the Country where the Holding is located, the manager cannot work in the factories of that Holding".
The government were aware of this game mechanic as well as the importance of trade routes and had instructed the United States of America to not attack the regions of Cork, Shannon and Mayo. Unfortunately, eIreland could not hold pace in releasing the regions of Louth, Dublin and Wexford through resistance wars. This resulted in the USA withholding from attacking our regions on numerous occasions as we fought to clear room for them to attack the correct region. Unfortunately auto-attack kicked in and Cork was subsequently attacked. Their Government apologised on every occasion to us, these attacks were done through both human-error as well as unavailability to hit attack at an optimal time.
Our training war has been running for potentially two months now (could be more) and over that time the United States of America has placed CO up for Ireland to assist us in winning in battles as well as fighting for our nation during the Resource Wars - a real bond has been reignited between our nations and our friendship is at a peak close to the one we once endured during the short-lived Brolliance alliance.
However as outlined early on, the training war was causing upset to some Irish citizens and we must put our countrymen and women at the forefront. We applied a three-strike rule and when Cork fell for the third time we put into motion a peace-plan and ended the war.
People are still disgruntled with the governments "late reactions" and our attitude regarding this war - but I stand by our choices as they were ones that I felt provided the greatest returns to every single eIrish citizen.
Our training war provided the opportunity for many of our citizens to win a range of 4 different medal categories on any given day: True Patriot, Resistance Hero, Battle Hero and Freedom Fighter medals.
An unlimited amount of citizens have access to True Patriot medals on a daily basis providing 990 IEP per person and 10 IEP to the State through taxation.
10 people can win a Resistance Hero medal on a daily basis providing them with 5 gold or roughly 2000 IEP per person. (Potential national income: 50G or 20,000 IEP)
An unlimited number of citizens can win Freedom Fighter medals roughly every 3 days providing 990 IEP per person and 10 IEP to the State through taxation.
A handful of citizens can win Battle Hero medals, if two wars are operating at the same time - there is a potential of 28 Gold every hour and half which can equate to 11,200 IEP every 90 minutes!
The way of income to eIrish citizens is incredible and it is available to every single citizen - not just those who are military tanks. For the most part, I believe the majority of citizens were happy with these new sources of income.
Many eIrish citizens do not operate too many factories and of those that do, only a few operate theirs out of Cork. To my knowledge, the unintended error provided a real inconvenience to no more than 5 citizens at most, unfortunately affecting a stream of their income through food production.
On a national level, food prices remained consistent at 0.09 IEP per 2 energy with slight fluctuations up and down to 0.08 IEP and 0.10 IEP per unit which is the common trend seen across the whole of eRepublik.
The nation gained monetarily while our markets remained consistent.
The natural benefits of our training war for every eIrishperson exceeded the losses of a few producers. Sorry but these are the simple facts.
This Training War was also operating as the main source of funding for the eIrish nation. It has been 4 months since the National Reserves was seized by my predecessors and we have been operating with no State Assets. Our country raises approximately 30,000 IEP a month in tax revenue which can only cater for the signing of 3 MPP's. Every other expense is paid for by this Government out of our private pockets.
The Irish Army provides Irish citizens with up to 25 Q7 tanks a day for working in our commune on top of 20 Q7 tanks for attendance at strikes. 25 Q7 tanks would cost the private citizen well over 325 IEP a day to purchase. Roll these supplies out on a large scale and the costs of production are huge. To provide these sort of services to eIrish citizens - it costs us over 200,000 IEP a month! This is the equivalent of 7 months tax revenue, but all paid for by your Government.
Our main source of funding? Gold from medals, whilst it may appear to you that we are reaping the benefits of this training war - it trickles down to every citizen as we privately support the running of our nation with our monetary gains from war. Without a steady stream of income to members of this government - The extra MPPs couldn't be signed and the Irish Army would supply system would cease to exist. The Irish war opened up a whole new level of income to us through the locality of the battles and less competition in pursuit of medals.
Only three days ago I personally deposited 20,000 IEP into our MPP fund as well as 200,000 energy units to our airstrike fund. The majority of this came from the spoils of the Éire-USA Training War.
We have since ended our Training War but I just want our citizens to know - your government did not act out of selfishness or greed. We have a duty to cater for the needs of our citizens and I believe we did just that.
I am sorry for any upset caused but I hope this article has given you a perspective on understanding the logic behind our appeasement. We are currently looking into operating a new Training War off Irish soil so as not to interfere with our citizens production.

Without the USA TW there would not be any decent bonuses in Cork to begin with, so it's ironic that the people complaining about the TW did so for reasons of losing bonuses in Cork, temporarily. USA made a couple of mistakes, not that big a deal tbh. Our relationship with USA should be more important than a couple days food bonuses. It won't be easy to find a TW partner as straight up and honest as them. In the meantime our entire population has to do without income from TP medals. Pity.
i personnally debate about this problematic. i didn't ask for the end of the TW but a smarter use of it.
"temporally" was in fact 12 days/15
so "temporarily" is indeed correct then unless there is another definition I am unaware of? There is permanent food bonuses in Cork because of the TW. A few problems can and should be forgiven. Ofc it was a pain in the ass losing the bonuses, but looking at the bigger picture is important and not just as far as the end of our nose.
that's why i wanted to participate to this debate, find the better solution. and the best is the TWat the borders of US regions.
sadly we already encounter a collateral damage with the departure of lady silver...
Not sure I understand what you mean by "TWat the borders of US regions" can you explain that please.
i meant in USA.
You mean we take US regions? Not possible unfortunately unless we were to spend millions per month on COs to win MPP battles against USA.
the burden of occupation goes to the strongest stack. In order for eUSA to cede MPP battles to us, they would need to control not just their own population, but everyone in their MPP stack's... like asking for the moon.
however RW's don't have stacks, so they can be privately managed by their participant nations (usually).
this is why eUK was able to invade us for years, but never hold our regions.
For this reason, eIreland will have no TW upon American, Canadian, or British regions, it's the reality of our population/stack ratios at this time.
We are only capable of hosting our neighbours. Admittedly eUSA is the most difficult of the 3 to host. However we decided to take on that challenge because the yank's offer to defend our production zones from any invaders during the TW seemed like too good an offer to pass up.
That makes an expensive and risky AS on a small nation our only option for a National Campaigns. Which nobody cares to fund, after watching the solid option get flushed down the toilet.

I was one of the people that asked about the situation in Cork as I am a food producer. I don't consider myself an expert around here, and had never understood the value of TW's. In the event this article was released before the war was ended, I would have insisted that if the war was for the greater good of Ireland, keep it going.
TW's provide our citizens with a number of things they don't get in foreign battles. Such as NE bonus, low movement costs (a big deal to NC's), a source of Battle Hero Gold, and True Patriot Medal Cash.
The TP Cash is of greatest benefit to our youngest soldiers, and our highest performing tanks. For instance, BiednyMis collected over 17 gold worth of these medals from just the last 2days of the eUSA TW.
We worked extremely hard to get those resources for eIreland (oh god did we) and want to see them operating at all times. But that doesn't mean we should play blind.
Even a player with +60 food companies admitted they can make more profit off a single TP medal than they can off working their Cork companies.
I didn't make the world this way, I just petition the community to play the game for what it really is.
Which is why I said, in the event that this had been brought up beforehand, people like myself would have had no issued with the TW continuing. I also don't pretend to assume that a post that I made had anything to do with the ending of the TW, I'm sure it was probably someone with much more to lose than myself.
i understand mate. i made my response into a global post for readers 🙂
Thanks for the explanation.
