Greetings Democrats, eIndians & eRepublicans,
As per my promise earlier, I am presenting you my version of the the Party Constitution. This constitution is just a proposal for functioning of the Democratic Party of India in my term and as always, is open to criticism, discussion and changes.

To summarize it up

1. Creation of 37 Posts within Democratic Party of India which includes
a. Executive Committee with 9 members inc. the Party President & Vice President
b. Senior Politburo with 7 members inc. the General Secretary
c. 16 Regional Presidents to represent the 16 Permanent Regions of India
d. 1 Party Treasurer
e. 1 General Secretary as the head of the senior politburo
f. 1 Party Spokesperson
g. 1 Vice President
h. 1 Party President

2. Creation of the Regional Party office in each permanent region of eIndia, with a Regional President representing each region.

3. Creation of the bi-monthly Democrat Award carrying a Prize Amount of 1 Gold for the best party member based on certain criteria & performance and judged by the 9 member Award Committee.

4. Creation of party fund through investment in various stock exchange, commodity market & monetary market. The Party fund to be utilized for financing the party projects, programs and activities and to be managed by the Treasurer.

This vision might seem a little ambitious and exaggerating, but the purpose is to underline the tenets of "Democracy" and get everyone involved in the party affairs and governance, without compromising with their Libertarian Values.

This is incredibly ambitious, and very well framed! Voted.

But, that said - some suggestions.
For the first, I think we need to be clear that the regional representatives, such that they are, might really have little/no role to play.

To begin with, I think it should be noted that the regions in eRep have no specific individual need/function - merely as forums from where Congress elections are to be fought. In fact, having the DPI Exec (and now, the Senior Politburo) deliberate and decide candidates across the nation is smarter. The regions have no specific need nor no unique benefit to offer that would distinguish this post from just sitting around and doing very little.

hey arawn, i think that's what he meant - the term regional representatives is just symbolic in nature - roles assigned to normal party members if not anything else...

Arawn, many roles mentioned have more symbolic and titular value than any power, even the President of India or the Governors have a little or no power vested in them and their role is more or less symbolic in nature..It has more or less to do with the honour and being regarded as a part of the family! As you said the congress elections are decided in the forums, but I guess you must also be aware that the congress elections are so closely fought that even 1 vote can make a difference at times. Having a regional President ensures that 1 vote which could decide the party's fate in the congress, specially because there are several members out there who rarely visit the forums or IRC. Regarding the Senior Politburo, you shouldn't be confused between them and the EC. The real powers are still vested in the EC, the senior politburo comprises of the veteran & experienced members of the Party whose primary function is to act as the Guardians or Mentors to the EC & the party. They are the advisers who would from time to time take up the role of the consultants to the EC and in future prevent the PTO attempts of the party by playing the role of the Guardians.

Alec, I am still inexperienced enough to be considered for the job you just mentioned my name for, you are a better deserving candidate for it : P

Read the Constitution, agree with most of it. It must be noted however that the foundations for the ideas you mentioned have already been laid down, and this is definitely a step in the right direction by incentivising activity among players, especially new eIndians. So, I give a big thumbs up. Cheers
