Mood Music: A Little Help From My Friends

Despite what you may have heard from my opponent, my cabinet is not incomplete. My team isn't made up of all "the best" people, but it is comprised of people who want to help this community and are volunteering their time to do so. Many of my friends are people who believe, like me, that this community is in need of some engagement and healing, and what better time to start that than now.

Recently, if you ventured out to the eusaforums, you may have seen a complete tear-down of my platform by a former, well-respected player, who has long since left the active gaming community and retired to the meta, Israel Stevens. "IS" as he is affectionately known basically summed up that the community is dead, there's no way to revitalize it, and doing anything with domestic programs to engage a dwindling population is a waste of time. What we need is action, something dramatic to ignite the fire under the oldfags and the new. I can't say I disagree completely with Israel, but in some regards he and I will just have to agree to disagree.

Someone has to dare to try.

I'll flesh out the details of my programs a little further down, and I thank you for indulging me thus far. So, without further adieu...

MY CABINET

Chief of Staff

Ilene Dover


The Chief of Staff is the President's right hand. The position is demanding to say the least and requires a special type of person who is dependable, detail oriented, and willing and able to step in should the need arise. Ilene Dover is the absolute best person for this job, which is why I selected her even before my campaign started. From the onset of consulting with my advisers, I knew I wanted Ilene in my cabinet, and Chief of Staff was the perfect position for her unique skills and dedication to this community.

Secretary of State

Aside from the President, who is the country's chief diplomat, the Secretary of State is the "GO TO" person when it comes to the nation's relations with members of our alliance, as well as foreign governments looking to establish relations with the eUSA. Yui has filled this position in the past several administrations and has developed relationships with our alliance members and allies around the globe with such expertise that it would be difficult to find anyone else whose fingers rest more firmly on the pulse of the eWorld.

I intend to support Yui in his endeavor for the position of Secretary General of Pacifica when the time arises, and firmly believe that he is the right person to execute our vision for foreign policy within our group of eNations. Joining Yui in the Department of State will be deputies Salty and a new player to our community Dominar Rygel XVI, both of whom are active in our community and interested in mentoring under Yui to navigate the often "murky waters" of foreign relations.

National Security Advisers

Orikfricai & Garmr


The President's National Security Advsirers are critical in the country's efforts to not only expand our reach and support our allies, but are also the line of defense that helps us rest a little easier knowing that our way of eLife is being protected. The two gentlemen I have selected to defend this country's military interests are both players who I personally know are well suited to the task. Orikfricai has performed just about every job in the Executive branch that there is to perform and believe me when I say that he and his counterpart, Garmr, are knowledgeable and eager to train the next generation of citizens to inrepret intelligence and coordinate efforts within our alliance and among our other allied eNations.

Secretary of Citizens' Affairs

Hale Kane


The Department of Citizens' Affairs is going to have a huge undertaking this month which is why I did not give a second thought to asking my good friend and current multi-term Federalist Party President, Hale Kane, to head up this effort. Assisting Hale this month will be former Country President, turned DoCA deputy, co-head of Special Projects, and one hell of a sexy lizard dancer, Trekker Tlumac. Trekker's partner in crime in the Special Projects division will be none other than 2nd Commander of the eNation's greatest Military Unit, WhydoIbotherToo. Assisting with additional DoCA duties will be well known Federalist, Kalos Hoenn.

Secretary of Media

Secretary of Media is a thankless job. The position involves countless hours of gathering information, figuring out what can be published, writing it up in a way that makes it interesting and engaging for the reader, and then publishing it with a frequency that keeps the community engaged and informed on what is going on. I pondered for all of about 5 seconds before asking a relatively new player to assist with this position. I crossed my fingers and popped the question, and he accepted! Feynmann, despite being new to the community has already proved his willingness to help out in any way that he can. He is eager for information and wants to learn about the community, which makes him perfect for the job of Secretary of Media, because he is going to get first hand knowledge of every program that runs through the Executive.

MY PROGRAMS


My platform is fairly simple, I believe that this community is made up of hundreds of active players. There are those players who like to "two-click", there are those who are interested in fighting, and there are even those who wish to get involved in politics and media, and play what we refer to as the "meta game." All of these players are looking for some type of engagement from this gaming community.

The two-clickers may be satisfied to work, train, and complete their Daily Orders, perhaps they're not looking for much, but there are the other groups of players who are still coming back here, day after day, looking for something. I believe they are looking for a way to be engaged with the community.

It is my intent to revive domestic programs to provide engagement -- I want to see more usage of Meals on Wheels and Bank Up 2 Strength Up so these programs are getting an overhaul, encourage contests the likes of Scavenger Hunts, the Legen----dary Wheel of Insanity (maybe a new name? Hmm), Trivia, and Writing Competitions where new players can pick up some cash and prizes to better help establish themselves in the community.

I would also like to work on contests for our militarized citizens, including those focused on prestige points, kills, and damage output. I will also be introducing a program for newer community members to gain cash through Freedom Fighter medals. This program will also coincide with coordinated efforts to maintain True Patriot medals delivering cash and levels to our players.

None of these programs are necessarily reinventions of the wheel, but I do believe that they will inspire this community to additional levels of activity and most of all, engagement. There is something for everyone in this plan. I enjoy this community and I really enjoy coming here each day and interacting with each of you. This is my effort to keep the community in the eUSA informed and engaged. I appreciate all your support and look forward to the elections on Monday, 5 June.
