Firstly, I'd like to thank all the players that helped overthrow our dictatorship, domestic or foreign, we thank you for the aid. There is a lot of work to do over the new few days and potentially weeks.
Before I get into any detail, here is what the Canadian Government looks like right now:

One of the players I trust the most here, dill is my right hand man until the 25th. Rylde may call him a tool, but he is all but that. He is a dedicated and trustworthy friend.

Now on to the part I suppose everyone scrolled to see.
Skim over some history:
Over the past month Rylde had agreed to hand over the dictator power to whoever won the CP election for May. The election rolled around and I won. Rylde refused to hand over the reigns, citing need to repay a "debt." Debt was paid and there was still refusal.
This was when things started to change, Dill and many others (not all eCanadian) approached me, asking if we should overthrow Rylde to ensure our "safe" dictatorship plan could keep rolling. After some planning, we agreed it was the best thing moving forward. We overthrew Rylde but not before he took 290k from our country accounts for his war purposes. After he says he thought I would take that money. Like come on Rylde.
That brings us to now.
The Plan:
As a government, nothing is going to change. I will continue to do duties as CP, attend Orion meetings, engage in planning with our allies etc. Xichael will continue to communicate with all our allies and friends, ED will ensure up to date battle orders and coordination with those who need it. Bryan will continue to manage our money. Regardless of who is in power, I'm sure Rylde agrees, Canada will continue to function.
Domestically however, things are changing. Rylde wants to spin this as CPF v.s MDP or Cordis v.s Canada. It is not. Both MDP and CPF have worked together for years making sure Canada was exciting as can be, but ALWAYS ensuring that it was the best action. Sure this is inspiring activity here but at a large cost. We could spend the same amount of money doing something else productive, like ASing Indonesia. But it is what it is, we're here now.
This battle will be big and I ask for your support. Players, countries and MUs have been contacted and purchased, we're prepared to fight Rylde. If you'd like to join our cause send a government member or myself a PM and we'll put you on the team. You'll be added to our coordination PM as well as have input on our next steps. Any donations or loans are greatly appreciated.

I missed the part where we explain why we willingly choose to squeeze the life out of the game by voluntarily returning to dictatorship. IMO it's like choosing to be sick and in a hospital bed with a slow but steady terminal illness because we're afraid that living free is too dangerous and unpredictable.
I'd rather we lived dangerously free, damn the consequences, than safe and self-oppressed.
Until then I'm 2 clicking until I lose the ambition to bother logging on.
A handful of people decided that we needed a Dictator.
They also decided to let Rylde be Dictator.
Most of them also decided that he was no longer "worthy" of being Dictator.
The ones that decided Rylde was no longer worthy, have since decided that Dill is worthy of being Dictator.
No, the general population was not consulted.

No the people making these decisions don't realize that they are doing exactly what they accuse Rylde of doing, and labeling him an "Enemy of the State" over.
Yes, the irony in this situation is almost off the charts.
Rylde was well aware that if he didn't hand over power to the CP by May he would face a revolution. This was made crystal clear. We never planned on having Rylde as dictator forever, we planned to have dictator passed off to the CP after each election. Other countries were ravaged by dictators so we took precautions. However, given all this headache, i'm leaning towards Canuck's idea of just saying to hell with dictators.
Its still just being passed off to another dictator xichael. Might as well just join us.

Who was it made crystal clear by? Was there something voted on and passed by the people, or was it a cabal of "elites" that decided which direction this country should take with no input from the community at large?

There's that "We" again. I don't remember being consulted as a citizen and 6+ year member of the community. Maybe I don't check enough boxes to be considered part of the "Community" yet.
The problem I have with this whole farce is the "Good Guys" in this are just as guilty as the "Bad Guys".

@Muglack, when I say "we" I am referring to the government at the time, all the top military units and party presidents,, which included most of the community leaders. This was discussed extensively in PM's that were basically full. I am aware it didn't involve the entire community in a referendum, but time was not on our side.
We had absolutely no warning of the dictator update. Rylde offered to put up the money for a protective dictatorship and we accepted on the condition that power be handed over after two months, three if Rylde won the election. I represented CAF and discussed it with my captains/commanders.
I take full responsibility for helping make the decision, and stand justified after several countries got ravaged by foreign coups during the first few weeks.
We're not perfect, but we try our best. Now we have time to decide our next course of action. I still have to consult CAF, but right now I just want to ensure this doesn't jeopardize relations with our allies, whatever the outcome.
@Rylde, perhaps. I have not pledged personal or CAF support for any potential dictator. However, having a dictator in a neutral MU would be much better than having it with CD. I am still open to the idea of remaining a democracy. Maybe the coup craze is finally over.
You had 10 days after kicking Rylde out to see what the public thought.

Only good reason to fight for pickle here is to raise the price on ryldes takeover dreams. I'm with you, at this point the ideal outcome would be a double KO.

Everything Muglack said is what I would say. I didn't see a vote option to keep Rylde as Dictator and lord knows I like to click buttons so I voted for Klop, but my first choice is always Rylde.
I never voted for Klop and I wasn't consulted about ousting Rylde, nor installing him as dictator. I also did not fight to have Rylde removed either.
This is mainly because I do almost no clicking in the game except read media and such stuff. As such, I'd be pretty foolish/full of myself to think my input would hold any sway in a game that many complain about but few play seriously, where investing time and money counts for more than some kind of democratic delusion suggested by labels like 'elections' and 'political parties.'
In other words, you influence the game by investing your time and effort working with others, or by more simply using a credit card to get there more easily. If you're not part of the 'in crowd,' that's probably because you're slacking. If politics isn't going the way you like, then pay your money to change it. Offering little of either but feeling you've been short-changed is an unrealistic complaint.
Also, Rylde pissed people off and was looking for conflict. In the end, his big backers could not hit bigger than those he egged into a fight by breaking prior agreements (combined with the determination bonus, of course). If you're looking for some kind of hero who fights against the dreaded elites, Rylde should have just fought his way into a dictatorship instead of making deals with them he didn't want to keep. If you wanted some kind of player-lead plebiscite to direct how people should fight/vote for the dictator, there's no mechanic in the game preventing you from doing this except people's opinion of you and the effort/money you've invested. Lacking any of those = not fully playing the game as it is currently designed.
My side didn't even bother to fight hard and waste resources against my ousting. Wasn't feasible with the high determination. We are up for a fight on the 26th when the 10 day timer runs out.
It's good to hear that the real plebiscite is on the horizon.
Just be sure to duke it out mano a crédito like it should have been done without all that phony cooperation stuff to confuse people with. Should be interesting.
