[ACP] Thank you ACP, and thanks to Garven Dreis

Day 1,365, 16:47 Published in Australia Australia by Chris Carnage

I take this opportunity to thank members of the Australian Communist Party for placing their trust in me to act as party president for the next month. The ACP has been the cornerstone of my eLife, and it is with great pride that I look forward to the opportunity to serve the party for this term.

Before getting on with business, I would like to thank outgoing party president Garven Dreis. Garven has reinvigorated the party, recruited new and active members, and for the first time in many months has led us back into the top 5 political parties in terms of membership. Personally, and on behalf of all ACP members, I thank you for your tireless service. If it weren't for your commitment to serve the people as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs I'm sure we'd be enjoying another term under your leadership.

Garven Dreis, the ACP thanks you!

And now, a reminder of what we stand for

THE MANIFESTO OF THE AUSTRALIAN COMMUNIST PARTY

Preamble:

The Australian Communist Party is the party of the people, we are fiercely democratic and put into practice the principles of social justice; liberty, egality and fraternity. Our passion is the fight against exploitation in its many forms; imperialism, economic exploitation, centralisation of wealth and power and political oppression.

Economy

* We strive to eliminate the systematic exploitation of workers and concentration of wealth and power inherent in a capitalist economy
* We believe the government should play a strong, guiding role in our nation's economic planning and development
* We believe that extreme scrutiny of anybody with power is necessary, to protect state assets from corruption.
* We believe that the government should look beyond the wishes of the big corporations, and to those who are losing wellness, who cannot afford to train, work AND eat, to those disempowered at the hands of the powerful, no matter what their intentions may be.

Foreign Affairs

* We aim to achieve friendly and cooperative relationships with our neighbours; this relationship must be based on mutual respect for national sovereignty
* We reject economic imperialism and respect each country's legitimate right of self-determination over their native territories
* We believe loyalty and enduring common interests should guide our membership of international alliances; long-term commitment over short-term expediency

Social

* We believe that participatory democracy is the path to social justice and an essential precondition for liberty and equality
* We encourage political debate in all forms and reject censorship; we support the right of citizens to protest, agitate and revolt against injustice

Military

* Politics is politics, military is military; the organisation and staffing of the military should be free of political influence
* We welcome the contribution of non-government militia to the development of eAustralia's military capability
* We support the use of state-owned companies to supplement and secure military supplies

Workers of the eWorld, unite!

If you are a member of ACP, please be sure to register on the eAustralian forum, and request to join the ACP membergroup (just PM me in game or in the forum and I'll make sure it runs smoothly).
