US & UK Make Peace
Despite a tremendous and valiant effort by eAmerican citizens in the recent Battle for London, EDEN was unable pull out a victory. As President Frost wrote to his citizens, "Your performance was, as usual, masterful. You laid down an incredible amount of damage against an incredible amount of MPPs and what I feel was a stacked deck against you." Although it is difficult to be surprised by the lengths to which our citizens will go to support their country, the eUS outpouring of support was astounding. Whether you handed out weapons for Bayonets for Brits, participated in mass attacks, tapped into your savings for a few higher quality weapons, or simply signed up for Bayonets for Brits, the White House would like to thank you all. This campaign presented its challenges but it offers us lessons as well. Ultimately, we will be a better nation for it.
Shortly after the battle, the eUnited Kingdom offered peace to the eUS and its EDEN assailants. Citing the strategic and financial costs in the war, all parties decided to accept the deal. By signing peace treaties, the eUK will regain their native territories in exchange for closing the activated MPPs against the six EDEN attackers. Both Congress and the Joint Chiefs of Staff have backed President Frost in his decision to accept peace, and all parties look forward to focusing on both domestic and strategic military initiatives.
The Return of the Pony Express
The Pony Express is a government program tasked with assuring that important and informative articles receive large numbers of votes, thereby exposing the articles to the population at large; it serves a second purpose of promoting friendly media ahead of Phoenix trolling in eUS media channels. The program has been inactive for a little over a month, but is making a comeback under the current Administration. Currently run by Joe Newton, Director of the Pony Express and part of the Department of Media, the Pony Express is returning to action. EDEN Undergoes Changes at the Top
As some of you may be aware, the upper echelons of our EDEN alliance has had some reorganizations take place, in order to allow its leaders a well-deserved break and to improve its operating capacity even more. Among the most notable changes are a new Supreme Commander, avec of eFinland, and new Assistant Supreme Commander, jbdivinus , an eCanadian citizen. The article announcing these changes can be found here.
The White House would like to thank all the outgoing EDEN leaders, including former eUS President Gaius Julius for the many hours they devoted to maintain and coordinate the efforts of a multinational alliance while the world around them greatly changed. With new leadership, we hope to see continued organization and cooperation amongst our allies, and a more prosperous future for us all.

Before raising import taxes I would suggest doing an analysis of what percent of goods (in each of the markets) represents foreign companies -- for example if only 1% of grain on the market is from foreign entities, then there would be little to gain from raising the tax, other than perhaps earning the ire of the representative company.
Another big issue when it comes to things like moving tickets and weapons is the "dire" factor. When it comes to the average eUS citizen buying weapons, they generally tend to look at how dire the situation is: "California is being attacked, I *need* to buy weapons to help out!" versus "foreign [allied] city is being attacked but the wall is over 1 million high, I can fight barehanded" or "I don't need to move there to help".
I feel I should mention that JBDivinus is the eCanadian PM, not just some random citizen.
other than that, good information 🙂
