Vote Mil for Change!
Mr Woldy
Citizens!
Welcome back after the Xmas break. I sincerely hope you’ve had a great festive period, no matter who you are, and you got at least one thing from your Christmas list. My mince pie count was very low this year as I have been going through a house move, boo! Most boxes are now unpacked (...more or less) and so my attention begins to creep back to eRepublik!
January is starting off on a series of positive notes - Citoyen Vigneron has been elected speaker, and Militarista is running for CP. Both are level headed and neither are considered (to my knowledge!) to be polarising individuals. These are exactly the kind of candidates the eUK needs more of so I hope they do well and that more players come forth to run for such positions.
Social cohesion in the eUK as a whole remains low, with handfuls of people preferring to shout sheep or traitor than engage in serious dialogue. Hopefully newer faces coming through can push us back towards a zeitgeist that sees players as individuals and considers ideas on merit, rather than one which sees only petty rivalries.
That is in part why I strongly urge anyone reading this to vote for Militarista on friday. Hopefully he can be considered on his merits, and strikes me as someone who can meet the demand for leadership and fairness currently felt by many across the eUK. I have little doubt he will attract a competent cabinet, and most of all he is exactly the sort of player we should be encouraging to rise through politics!
Yuletide Thanks
I want to extend a thank you to everyone who sent me a gift pack over the last few weeks! I was drowning in them, and couldn’t find the time to thank people individually. So have a massive group thanks here to all those across the eUK and eGlobe who took the time to gift me!
In the spirit of giving back anyone who comments here will get some food from me, but I wasn’t paying attention to my companies over xmas so it might take a few days whilst Mr Woldy’s exceedingly good cakes turns the pastry pounding machine back on.
Mr Woldy takes his xmas gifts back to poundland, receipt at the ready.
Thanks for reading!

Christmas In the Workhouse, by Ronnie barker
It was Christmas Day in the workhouse,
The merriest day of the year,
The paupers and the prisoners
Were all assembled there.
In came the Christmas pudding,
When a voice that shattered glass
Said, "We don't want your Christmas pudding,
So stick it there with the rest of the unwanted presents".
The workhouse master then arose
And prepared to carve the duck.
He said, "Who wants the parson's nose?"
And the prisoners shouted, "You have it yourself, sir!”
The vicar brought his bible
And read out little bits.
Said one old crone at the back of the hall,
This man gets on very well with everybody.
The master rose to make a speech,
But just before he started,
The mistress who was fifteen stone,
Gave three loud cheers and nearly choked herself.
And all the paupers then began
To pull their Christmas crackers.
One pauper held his too low down
And blew off both his paper hat and the man's next to him.
The mistress, dishing out the food,
Dropped custard down her front.
She cried,"Aren't I a silly girl?"
And they answered, "You're a perfect picture as alway's ma'am!"
So then they all began to sing
Which shook the workhouse walls.
"Merry Christmas!" cried the master
And the inmates shouted; "Best of luck to you as well sir!?”

whos mil?
Remove all the old putty you can.
Roughen the surfaces that contacted the putty with coarse sandpaper.
Clean the shower base and drain surfaces where the putty was a well as you can.
Fill the resulting gap with self-leveling polyurethane sealant. Do so in a way to not trap air and to fully fill the void.
thats google talk, mines been fine for years 😃
Mil is militarista.
Kinda like the nickname, I've to say o7
We'll see how it will end with the Speaker role😅
I think it's a nice choice to give your support to militarista.
I'm sure you'll do well. The hard part is knowing what to do when people suggest troll proposals, as has sadly already happened. Ofc you can drop me a line if you ever want a second opinion!
We'd make a funny ticket o7
happy 2024 woldy
you too dougal2024chaos
seeing the photo with the title underneath '' Mr Woldy takes his xmas gifts back to poundland, receipt at the ready.'' i realise why i still like carrying similar items at my age. it must have been grown on me by watching those series.
With respect to militarista I've never seen him even in a minor gov role yet - the CPship and keeping on stop of daily double digit TWs are a bit of a step up
But best of luck o/
Luckily he had an experienced team around him
I’m all for giving younger players a chance
Also the “keeping on top of TWs” line isn’t even that believable as difficult anymore. Once you know what you’re doing it’s easily achievable
Thirdly: man’s got 2 CP medals. It’s not his first rodeo
Thanks for the civil way in which you expressed your view on me: that should be the way of our debating. For the rest, let’s roll 🎲 o7
Mils experience notwithstanding, some of the best CPs ever seen were schoolkids, it's not a big step up to play a browser game
I'm not suggesting mil is a schoolkid (I have no idea how old he is) but that the myth being cp is incredibly difficult is exactly that, a myth
Not sure govt experience is positively correlated with being any good at it, tbh
Like the ode; pity it does not rhyme!
Remember it from one of Terry Wogans Xmas mornings.
