The eCanada Awards - Nominations Open

Day 5,352, 20:12 Published in Canada Canada by Mann551

It's been a while, hasn't it.

My last article was talking about our epics. The article before explained what I was going to do after having been elected CP. That was over 6 months ago.

My last big, public, entertainment blitz was the eCanada Winter Games. At the time I had teased about possibly doing an eCanada Summer Games. After the Winter Games, I sent out a survey to the participants to gather their opinions. It was anonymous, so I had no idea who would respond so that they could be honest. The responses to the survey were going to be guiding me as I developed the eCanada Summer Games that were to be presented in July. Although I encouraged them to respond, there was only 1 response to that survey. So in aggregate, it seemed that the eCanada Winter Games were not well received, and there was absolutely no interest in doing them again.

So here we are.

I'd like to introduce you to the eCanada Awards. My competitions of the past have been largely focused on the military module. In large part because the game is completely oriented that way. But now is the time to get the community involved and recognized.

eCanada Awards

The eCanada Awards are a community recognition vehicle. There are several different categories that citizens are able to nominate other citizens for. For a list of categories, see below. Once nominations close, there will be a time for eCanadian citizens to vote on who they believe should win in each category based on the nominated citizens. Eventually the results will be published here in my newspaper and the winners will receive prizes. There are also prizes for nominating citizens.

Categories

Best Dressed - This category is intended to award the player with the best or most interesting avatar/profile picture.

Most Persistent - This category is intended to award the player who shows the most persistence.

Business Mogul of eCanada - This category is intended to award the player who is the most business savy in eCanada with regard to in game companies and economics.

Community Developer - This category is intended to award the player who contributes significantly to the community of eCanada.

Political Schmoozer - This category is intended to award the player who is the most adept at navigating eCanadian politics.

Silent But Deadly - This category is intended to award the player who doesn't speak much, but their presence is unmistakable.

Least Liked, Most Needed - This category is intended to award the player who may not be the most liked in the community, but without him or her the community would struggle to function.

The winning player in each category will receive a 100,000 cc prize. The runner up in each category will receive a 25,000 cc prize.

But that's not all. There are additional special prizes to be won. Each citizen nominated for any category is automatically nominated for the following two awards: The Governor General Award and the Lieutenant Governor Award. The winner of these awards will win 300,000 cc and 150,000 cc respectively. These awards are intended to award the players who contribute the most to eCanadian society, no matter what way that may be.

Nominations

Nominating citizens can also be rewarding. Every time you nominate a citizen for a category, your name will be entered into a draw to win 1 of 3 $50,000 cc prizes. You can enter multiple times, but you can only win once.

If you are wanting to nominate a citizen for any award category, just follow this link to a Google Form to fill out.

Rules for Nominations

1. You may only nominate one citizen per nomination form.
2. A citizen can be nominated for multiple categories.
3. You may not nominate Mann551 for any category, as the Awards organizer
4. You may not nominate yourself for any category.
5. Each nominated citizen must be an eCanadian citizen

A Nuance

Recognizing community involvement sometimes requires looking back in the history books to people who may no longer partake in our community. The rules do not state that the player nominated must still be an active citizen. You may nominate dead citizens as long as they meet all the other rules for nominations. If a dead citizen wins a category, the prize money will roll down to the next in line until someone can given the prize.

Some eCanadian citizens of the past no longer play in eCanada. While you can not be nominated for these awards, you are still able to take part in the awards by nominating other players, which enters you into the draw, and voting for who you think should win in each category!

So what are you waiting for, nominations for the eCanada Awards are open NOW!
