I posted a simple question in the forum regarding E USA's economy. I was hoping one of our fearless leaders could help me understand why our economy is in the dumps.
Not one responded but non E USA citizens (for the most part.)
Maybe if we vote this article up, they will have to take notice and tell us why?
Here is a small sampling of the responses I got:
My Question:
Why is our economy just seem to be sinking?
Did I miss something?
Any Ideas, facts, or theory's?
Some of the responses:
1) Taking Karntaka and the resulting change in the value of the dollar was the biggest upset. Wages or the dollar's value needs to fall to improve the situation.

Short term, eAmerica's economy is run by people who have little to no idea what they are doing.

4)They have idea - to rob average Joe, so they can have gold for wellness packs
5) yeah.. 50% tax on iron so loadsa noob get scammed then raise tax so the gov can go to war and say how great USA is... but in the long run this will feed through to the economy and lower wages means, people leave abroad and eUSA citizen will be poorer then they'll find they can afford less and less wars.

14)If the US gets the money they use it for tanking/lotteries(scratch that due to admins rule >:C)/helping. The government takes care of us(not in a controlling way, but in a careful way). So what if you make 1-2 extra BOB or HRK or USD. It goes to the government, and helps us win battles and such.
15)mister person the hability to buy 2 q1 weapons 1 unit of food and still save a few bucks to be able to buy 3 q1 weapons every 3-5 days is what 4 skill in land enables you in most of the developed countries of the eworld
16)not to mention that you betting in land is akward to say the least considering that the entire american excuse not to protect it´s job market it telling people they wanna be the best at manufacturing

I cannot speak for everyone but the high income taxes are one of the reasons I left the eUS.
And the condescending attitudes, poor leadership, Mexican war. French War, USWP stranglehold, ect.

I do pay attention. Do you run a company? Is it profitable? Did you read what e-citizins are saying from other e-countries?
Is there some big master plan with taxes I'm not getting? 50% Iron tax, pffft.

I had the same complaint. Jewitt explained it in his newspaper and I'm fine with. It's actually pretty smart. The company IS profitable. I just can't take the profits out of the company for a few days (which is fine with me). So maybe you should stop whining.

The 50% iron tax is already on the table to decrease and will pass tomorrow.
The goal of the tax was three-fol😛 temporarily raise income almost purely at the expense of INDONESIAN citizens since they were the ones working in iron, this also serves to make the Indonesian citizens mad and run them from the game, to prevent a huge rush of investment into the region before it has been secured, and finally to force Indonesian company's out of business so they sell at a discount to US business owners.
You continue to say the economy is sinking with little actual supporting arguments. In December our Federal Budget was increased by approximately 12.5%. We also have a supplemental bill on the floor now that will increase this even more.
You also comment on import taxes. Protectionist tariffs result in a loss for BOTH consumers and industry. It's a basic economic concept called dead-weight loss which happens by forcing a price on the market and decreasing competition.
I don't know why I bothered to type this all out, because I have a feeling by the tone of the article any answer is irrelevant, but there's the rationale behind what has been done.
Actually, little of that article is what I said. I do not claim to be an economy pundit. These were other peoples comments in the forum.

Well no duh the Government received more cash. Increasing income taxes tends to do that. There is also the large amount of 2 new players that join everyday. It is obvious that as taxes go up, so does Government revenue.
You also (I am guessing) have no idea how many new players come on the forums asking for help because their taxes are so high.

the economy is fine obviously you dont remember during the war when there were no jobs and you were okay with working for $2 a day no matter what just to let the eUSA survive. now that we are safe and are liberating places you want to line your own pockets instead of army our military to help protect our allies who gave so much for us
1. Wages will level out, this is what lags the most when the USD exchange rate changes.
2. Foreign goods don't necessarily drive US businesses out of business. Rather, oversupply in our domestic market is a bigger issue as well as business owners willing to chase prices downward without regard to profitability.
3. 20% income taxation is what drives our military.
4. I own 11 businesses so I'm quite familiar with the issues you raise.
Oh for gods sake...people take this game to seriously. The eUnited States Government is not corrupt. No egovernment is unless its a PTO.
Everybody wants to see their country succeed. The 50% on Iron was to get Foreigners out of Karnataka so they can't hurt our war effort. Its not that goddamn hard to understand.
During the North American war, our economy was hell. Worse than hell we only had one state with 9000 people living in it! Our economy is one of the best now thank god, go check out the GDP.
Please prove to me that Jewitt and the "Political elite" are corrupt and lining their pockets. What is the Political elite anyway? Senators? No. They are just good people that were voted in.
Administration? No, they were appointed by Jewitt to lead and defend our country.
It boils down to this: Why would they screw us over on purpose, just to line their own pockets momentarily. If they indeed were doing this to hurt us, they would simply lose the country to Phoenix...again.
I very simply asked a question in the economic forum and posted the responses.
I do not remember "the great war" as I was not playing then.
I asked for some answers from our leaders. I really got not none.
