[FedPP] Graduation Day and Kongressional Elections

Greeting fellow denizens of eRepublik. I find myself in the sooner than expected position of writing another article. Hopefully this article will not come across as unhinged lunacy, but you never know... So a funny thing happened this month, for the first time in I am not sure how long, I was elected Party President of the Federalist Party. This was not a job I actively sought out. It went a little like this:



As has been commented on my last article, my activity has been a bit low for the last several years. It would seem my recent emergence was considered to be a surprise. My absence can be explained thusly: I injured my knee multiple times on the job and had to have to surgery multiple times in an attempt to repair it. Those attempts failed and I found myself with a degenerative knee that will no longer hold up to the rigor of working as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. A conclusion I suspected was coming so in the Fall of 2021 I re-enrolled at the University that I had basically flunked out of in my early 20s.

The University made me jump through a lot of hoops to gain admittance and regain access to financial aid. In my view they were a little cruel in their requirements. Prior to my crashing and burning I lost a brother to suicide and right around that time I came to the realization my mother who I thought abandoned me was actually murdered and disappeared by my stepfather. To add to this I also lost my job and the woman I thought I was going to marry broke up with me.

I explained all of this to the University and the financial aid office, but they wanted my brothers obituary, police reports for my mother, and a note from a mental health professional. I provided theses things and was grudgingly allowed to re-enroll and utilize financial aid. For the last 2 years and change I have crammed 4 years of school in. I was taking 20 plus credits a semester, volunteered as a research assistant, participated in an undergraduate research project, did a teaching fellowship, and served as a Union Branch President. In short I have been busy. My goal was to finish the undergrad portion as fast as possible, while also polishing a resume that would be difficult for the graduate school admissions committee to decline.

It was worth it. Next week I will graduate magna cum laude, and the week after will be starting graduate school. A year from now I will be graduating from an advanced standing program with a master degree in Social Work. My goal is to be a therapist and work with survivors of domestic violence/sexual violence. This new career will be for my mother and so many others that have suffered like she did. Now I am ready to cut loose a little and also start being more active in the eRepublik community again.



My first order of business as Fed Party President is to get out the Congressional Vote. My personal tradition has been to not place myself in Congress while Party President. I will be continuing that precedent, and we will have a fine slate of Feds to represent the Party and advocate for the eUSA within the food fight that Kongress so often devolves into hallowed halls of Congress a place of decorum, tradition, and history. I will not be publishing the aforementioned slate of Feds here. There will be another article published tomorrow with that information so keep an eye out.

In the next few days I will be publishing the contemplated changes to No Fed Left Behind. For those who do not know what No Fed Left Behind is, as it is currently constituted the following is shouted on the Party Feed every weekday:

This is fairly self explanatory, but for clarification a guaranteed amount of food is distributed to everyone requesting and weapons are given out on an escalating scaled according to strength. Any and all members may request this daily.

To close out this article; let's get that Fed Vote out on the 25th! As far as I can tell the Party Rivalries of yesteryear have largely died down and faded away, but it is always nice to do well on the 25th. So Vote Fed on Thursday April 25th!
