Dear Britain,
Wherever we turn in this world, we constantly encounter words of wisdom regarding our personality. We hear of character traits so important to the continuity of humanity, but so rarely seen within people.
We hear of the nobleness that lies within modesty, humility and restraint.
We hear of the greatness that lies within generosity, temperance and tolerance.
We hear of the strength that lies within diligence, patience and justness.
Despite the importance of all the mentioned character traits, there is one trait that I value above all else. There is one trait that, with a lack of it, all others would be irrelevant; One trait that separates the lions from the sheep.
I am speaking of the trait that makes men and women stand up for what is just, even when they are in the minority. I am speaking of the trait that makes people share with those less fortunate, even when it destabilises their own lives. I am speaking of the trait that allows diligence to contest slothness, even if it means going toe to toe with a superior foe. I am speaking of the trait that has moved the wheel of history for centuries;
I am speaking of courage.
In these times of change, our country needs courage more than ever before.
Although I may have assembled the courage required to step up and pursue the office of prime minister, without a brave nation behind me, my courage will prove futile.
That is why I ask of you, Britons, to find the courage that I know lies within your hearts, and be the change that our country needs.
I ask of you to rise up, and participate in the progression of this country; I ask of you to apply for a position in my government, not for yourself, but for your country.

In order to maximize the efficiency of the day to day running of the country, I will need a strong set of people to assist me in my government. Below you will find a list of positions available, and a brief description of the duties that define the workload of the office.
I want to make it clear that I welcome any British citizen to apply for a position in my government. I will be taking applications up until the third of December, and a message will be sent out to the ones selected for government on the fourth to confirm their desire to lead the office.
Available positions are as follows:
Deputy Prime Minister:
The Deputy Prime Minister has a broad variety of tasks, varying from giving the Prime Minister a second opinion on matters of importance, as well as keeping a constant flow in government communication. An important part of the deputy’s duties is the fact that should the Prime Minister be temporarily unable to access eRepublik for various reasons, the deputy is to step up and take control of government.
Minister of Finance:
Commonly regarded as the third most important role in government hierarchy in the real world, the MoF is tasked with making sure the country’s coffers have what we need to keep the government running for the month.
The MoF’s tasks include providing ministers with the money required to run their offices, as well as keeping our finances stable, and hopefully growing. This office arguably requires the most experience within eRepublik out of the ministries, due to the obscure way the economy functions within eRepublik.
For this position, I will also be looking have at least one deputy assisting the lead minister in his/her efforts.
Minister of Defence:
The duties of the MoD includes authoring articles containing battle priorities on a regular basis, communicating with the nations’ many military units in order to maximize our damage coordination, distribute weapons to our citizenry in times of an emergency and set combat orders when needed. The MoD plays an important role in any government, and is expected to be available throughout most of the day. Communication with our alliance HQ’s and various allies individually over battle priorities and war strategies will be an important role for the MoD.
For this position, I will also be looking to have at least two deputies assisting the lead minister in his/her efforts.
Minister of Foreign Affairs:
Arguably the most important ministry this month coming, the MoFA is tasked with communicating with our allies, negotiating potential deals and treaties with other nations, keeping the UK up to date of the ongoings in the world and Britain’s involvement in world affairs, as well as keeping our allies up to date with what goes on in Britain.
In times of change in the alliance sphere such as these, a competent diplomat is needed to guide our nation to new heights.
For this position, I will also be looking to have at least on deputy assisting the lead minister in his/her efforts.
Minister of Home Affairs:
One of the main focuses of my presidency will be internal affairs, and as such a strong team when it comes to home affairs will be needed. The MoHA is tasked with arranging community activities ranging from competitions, awards and friendly games to overlooking and enforcing any legislation active in the country. In times of parliamentary disagreement over the procedures of our legislation, the MoHA is tasked with guiding the parliament, and as such has the final say in legislative matters.
Other vital tasks that goes along with this office includes player education and retention, as well as arranging and leading an immigration committee should parliament decide to reinstate any immigration procedures.
For this position, I will also be looking to have at least three deputies assisting the lead minister in his/her efforts.

In the coming days I will publish articles regarding my policies more specifically. I would advise all of you to keep an eye out for these updates.
Furthermore, I want to make sure that any support shown towards my campaign is greatly appreciated, and I do hope that we truly can change the UK for the better, together.
As of now, I will leave you with this quote:
"All great events hang by a hair. The man of ability takes advantage of everything and neglects nothing that can give him a chance of success; whilst the less able man sometimes loses everything by neglecting a single one of those chances." -Napoléon I Bonaparte.

only attack i seen was from bigant
Dan Moir right below your comment there.
Aren't you normally on the other side?
http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/2149/daj4.png
I have spent more time in the eUK than all other nations I have resided in combined, so no, not normally. I have, however, explored the world, and through that gained experience and knowledge.
I advice you to consider going on a trip to a foreign country and explore their community, it might do you good. 🙂
Well, you seem to think it's ok to glorify terrorists that have killed innocent people. http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4503/j7ps.png
How can people vote for that?
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/very-important-announcement--1918520/1/20
Actually Dan, if you studied history you would learn that the country country in the world to officially declare them terrorists was the UK, which, later on, recognized their struggle and as a result granted Ireland independence in 1922. I am also certain that Big Mick only authorized the killings of military leaders, members of the royal Irish constabulary, intelligence agents, and other individuals professionally opposing their struggle for independence.
The splinter groups created after independence was granted, under new names, are different from the original.
Considering you know me fairly well, you would also know that I tend to take on a role-playing persona including much nationalism, something I have done not only when holding Irish citizenship, but Singaporean, American, British, German, Taiwanese (and the list goes on).
Furthermore, I uphold very libertarian values in real life, and as such believe that all ethnicities have the right to independence over their native lands, even if it comes at the expense of countries I hold very dear.
You would also know that I do jest a lot, especially at the expense of others. I will admit, however, that it can be interpreted as offensive and as such I do apologize for any offence taken, as it is not my intention.
Causing controversy is something I am know for doing, quite a lot, and I may do so in knavish, rogue or, in all honesty, sometimes straight out repulsing ways, but I do believe it is necessary in many ways.
This controversy sparked resistance in the UK, which lead to, after three months of occupation, me granting the UK independence at the expense of my allies, when I served as president of Ireland, in March 2012.
So you're Pro-IRA. Thanks for clearing that up.
I support a militia that has been defunct for almost a hundred years? No, I fail to see how that would be possible.
An important note to make is that the IRA was a prominent military unit in eIreland at the time, it was short lived, and eventually became the 'in-game' military unit of the Irish Citizen Army which outdated it with years. The ICA later came to include several British, and eBritish, people.

Courage lads, courage!
1. Weren't you the Speaker of the House a month or two ago and when your term ended you couldn't be bothered to organize a vote for the next one? (Not an accusation I'm really not sure if that was you)
2. Where did you get your first CP medal?
(:
I was, and it took three days before a speaker was elected (which is quite the norm). I was actually organizing it, just as Appleby decided to take it off my hands. I do however admit that I did fail in doing it in proper time, due to the fact that I was busy with several college assignments, and I take full responsibility for that.
I got it in Ireland, in March 2012.
Notable achievements during that month was conquering two countries (the UK, which I later gave independence after being under occupation constantly for three months) and Denmark) as well as reducing Sweden's congress by 80%. I helped set up a program which would go on to grant every citizen in need a full set of highest quality weapons to fight in coordinated battles for five months, and thanks to my brilliant finance minister, gave out grants of 10,000 CC to all citizens who applied for it along with monetary advice which lead to the accumulation of hundreds of thousands over the coming year, due to money being moved from foreign nations and into Ireland.
Together with the Bulgarian foreign minister, I also laid the groundwork for what would become CoT.
Although I obviously cannot claim I did every single bit of it, I like to believe that I did play a role in it.
I have been quite a few places in eRepublik, many of those places currently have a negative stance towards the UK, but it has helped me grow as a politician significantly, and as such it has granted me a huge amount of experience with which I hope to improve the eUK.
Thank you for the reply o7
No problem. 🙂
Legion is dead bro.
I know, and as such I decided to continue wearing their avatar in honour of their service to the country. 🙂
Just shows how much you value the people in your current MU
I fail to see your point.
The Legion played a significant role in the UK's history up until recently, and as such honouring the memory of the military unit is something I view as positive.
I am currently serving as captain in my military unit, and I suggest you contact either our commander, Huey George, or one of the second commanders, if you doubt my respect for the unit.
I agree with ChewChewShoe on this. Legion avatar I use too as honouring Legion, however now I am a real Red Coat.
I think ChewChewShoe has some good points and some minor points.
I do think he is quite open on where he stand, he is intelligent and has worked for UK for some time now. I have respect for him even when sometimes he is somewhat blunt. Not a bad choice for a CP.
However I am not a UK citizen, it is the choice of the UK people.
ChewChewShoe upholds the ideals of the Free British Irregulars and I have complete confidence that he values and respect all his fellow 'irregulars'. We are a 'free' unit with each solider able to follow their own path in the defence of the UK and her allies, what uniform a solider chooses to wear is up to each solider and may be an important part of their story and how they ended in with the Free British Irregulars so this should be valued and respected in turn.

Voted, Good luck.

I would have voted just because you used the title of the best movie ever made but I voted to support you.
I thought he called it Where Eagles Dare and not Lord of the Rings?
lol Awesome movies as well. Or is it one? It is one book.
I got it years ago in one massive book but it was much too long for one film. Even with three, they had to cut swathes of it. Desolation of Smaug out in two weeks.
I know. I can't wait. Heck the Hobbit is three movies. The LotR should be a mini series. lol The Old Forest and the Barrow Downs are some of my favorite parts and they get left out in the Jackson movies as well as the animated one.
If you don't vote for Chewie, you're a dumbshit
In ChewChew we trust
voted and i applied, just in case 😉
Chewy for CP!!!

Voted for the glory of snow.
