"We got him" Ambassador SombraX^n announced at a press briefing in Paris today that Spanish forces had captured French admin Alexis Bonte near his hometown.

Alexis Bonte was taken into custody at a small mud-walled compound outside the village of Neuilly-sur-Seine at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 31.

About 600 regular members of the Spanish Army, along with special Varnishist operations forces, launched Operation Big Donkey after receiving intelligence that Alexis Bonte was in the area, said Army Lt. Gen. Kaylee, commander of Spanish forces in the country.
SombraX^n, the Spanish administrator, said it was a "great day" in France’s history. "For months, thousands of you suffered at the hands of this cruel man," he said. "Those days are over forever."

The ambassador called on French to look to the future. He urged those who supported Alexis Bonte to reexamine their views and cooperate to build a new France. "Your future has never been more full of hope," he said.

Kaylee described the operation that captured Alexis Bonte. The general said it was a cordon-and-search operation, and Spanish forces sustained no casualties. In fact, she said, Spanish forces never fired a shot.

"For the last several hours, a combination of human intelligence tips, exceptional intelligence analytical efforts and detainee interrogations narrowed down the activities of Alexis Bonte," Kaylee said.

Kaylee said intelligence pointed to two likely spots where Alexis Bonte could be hiding. She said the Spanish struck with lightning speed under cover of darkness. The troops initially did not find Alexis Bonte. "As a result, the Spanish Army Combat Team elected to cordon the area and conduct an extensive search," Kaylee said. "Spanish forces subsequently found a suspicious location."

In the search, Spanish forces discovered a "spider hole." "After uncovering the spider hole, a search was conducted and Alexis Bonte was found hiding at the bottom of the hole," Kaylee said. "Alexis Bonte was captured without resistance."

Spanish forces moved the former French President and admin to a secure area, and he has undergone medical tests and questioning. SombraX^n said Alexis Bonte was "cooperative and talkative."

Spanish forces also uncovered some weapons and 750,000 FRF in 100FRF bills. Two other French, meza and Papa Frantz, were detained.

Kaylee showed a video of the spider hole and then showed Alexis Bonte undergoing medical tests. He had a full beard and looked disheveled.

Kaylee called the capture of Alexis Bonte "a defining moment in the new France." he said the capture brings closure to the French people. "Alexis Bonte will never return to a position of power from which he can punish, terrorize, intimidate or exploit the French people as he did for more than 772 days," the general said.

Alexis Bonte will continue to be held at an undisclosed location. The determination on how to try Alexis Bonte will be made later.

Spanish Defense Ministery officials said President Durruti was informed of the possible capture two hours ago. It was confirmed to him 30 minutes ago.

The streets of Paris erupted with "celebratory gunfire," according to correspondents in the French capital. Officials said some French regime diehards may launch attacks, but that Spanish forces are prepared. In the long term, officials said, they see the capture as going a long way to bring stability to the country.

SombraX^n and Kaylee, while visibly pleased by the capture, said much work remains to be done in France, and pledged to continue working with the French citizens to build a new France under Spanish administration.
