Wars Around the World - Day 2690

WARS AROUND THE WORLD!

West Europe (This includes us!)

According to our fine Country President, the Ireland-USA war is a training war. Both countries are allies of ours, and the two countries themselves are allies. Anyway, on the German front, Poland is attacking Western Pomerania and winning 19-3. Because Poland is shutting Germany out in the north, Germany has resorted to attacking Denmark for territory, but that war has been relatively low-action and has only just begun. Germany lost North Rhine-Westphalia to Hungary yesterday, and going on a tangent, Slovakia is RWing Hungary in Central Slovakia, but Hungary’s winning outright (33-0). In the Southwest, Slovenia is fighting three wars against three different enemies at the same time: Austria is RWing Slovenia to try and regain territory (Austria leads 55-0), Switzerland is RWing Slovenia for Svizzera Italiana (Switzerland leads 22-0), and Italy’s RWing Slovenia for Venice (Italy leads 32-1). I don’t know if these three countries were in communication with each other before they declared RWs at about the same time, but Slovenia is normally a formidable enemy. My hypothesis is that split amongst three wars, these lesser foes are able to beat them on numerous fronts. It will be interesting to see if these simultaneous RWs continue and if Slovenia can pull out a victory in any of them and shift momentum. On a separate, yet equally important note, I’ve also heard from our fine Country President that we’ll be waiting to declare an RW until we have a formidable Determination Bonus, which will take a while. Hang tight, folks.

East Europe

Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey are in a major three-way battle in RL Turkey; Slovenia has SE Anatolia but is being RW’d by Turkey (Turkey leads 42-2), Slovenia is attacking Mediterranean Coast of Turkey, trying to gain a foothold in that region (Turkey leads 49-30), and Serbia’s attacking the Black Sea Coast of Turkey (and winning 44-0) to increase the extent of their occupation of the Turkish mainland. Going north, Bulgaria has declared an RW on Serbia (Bulgaria leads 10-1), Greece is trying to defend Skopje against an attack from the FYROM (in which Greece leads 9-3), and Singapore’s holding on to their presence in Europe by defending Transnistria from a Moldovan attack (Singapore leads 28-16). Slovakia currently has 2 RWs to try and regain territory: one against Poland in Eastern Slovakia (Poland leads 11-0) and one against Hungary in Central Slovakia (Hungary leads 33-0). It may not make a difference, but my suggestion to Slovakia is this: don’t start 2 RWs at the same time! It’s backfired for them so far, as both nations that they’ve declared RWs against are creaming them on the battlefield.

Africa

There’s actually some action in Africa today! Uruguay is attacking the South South States in Nigeria and winning 72-5. This would make Nigeria a one-region nation vulnerable to further attack by Uruguay. In the South, Croatia is attacking South Africa’s Eastern Cape to try and increase their presence in the region (Croatia leads 64-2).

Middle East

There’s a Saudi Arabian RW against Cyprus (Cyprus leads 67-10), and Iran is trying to get Sistan and Baluchistan back from Poland in an RW (Poland leads 10-0 and is waiting for D1 to finish). On the UAE front, Cyprus is beating Canada in a war for Umm al-Quwain (32-0). Because Canada is losing their war against the UAE in Ras al-Khaimah (90-25), a loss in Umm al-Quwain would squeeze Canada out of the Middle East region and force them to spend boatloads of money on an Airstrike to get back in.

South Asia

Pakistan has an RW against Turkey for Karachi and is winning 84-38. Bulgaria just took control of Jammu and Kashmir from India, and is currently trying to defend Utter Pradesh from an Indian RW (but India leads 72-5).

East Asia

Not much here, but a Japanese RW against Russia for Hokkaido sees Japan leading 65-18.

Oceania

Australia is trying to regain control of the Northern Territory from Peru in an RW that sees Australia leading 91-7, while New Zealand is leading Australia 11-0 in an attack on Queensland. Let the record show that my prediction is that once Australia wins the Northern Territory RW, they’ll redirect their efforts to defeating the Kiwi offensive on Queensland and win both wars even though New Zealand gets an 11-point head start. In other news, Indonesia has an RW against Colombia for Java (Indonesia leads 39-16).

North America

All Quiet on the Western Front (a great book by Erich Remarque, I may add 🙂 ...

South America

… except in South America where we have two wars going on. Peru is attacking Bolivia in Pando and winning 83-0, and down south, the Argies are attacking Chile in Zona Sur and winning 31-22.
