US-AIM: The Implications
Wild Owl
However, as with all major events, this will have several implications which I intend to cover through this article.
Socially:
Starting with the lighter topic first, socially, this was a pretty cool event for the vast majority of the players in the MUs participating in the exercise. Logging in daily to work/train and do Daily Order Kills is repetitive and boring. With this event however, most of the people participating were told to go “all out”, and win it - which they did in style. Working together on IRC channels and directing damage, they pounded the battlefields with all they had and more. It was an impressive array of force. To whoever organised this, Kudos sir.
Domestically:
Domestically, this isn’t a great position for the executive to be in. The MUs which participated in this are all independent ones, who take no funding from the US government and can generally do their own thing, although they take care to hit for eUS and allies. However, a coordinated display of force, such as this one without the express approval of the Executive, is always going to be frowned upon. Should US-AIM continue to function as a cohesive group, it is likely that the power of the Executive with regards to directing damage will decrease. Note that US-AIM fully intends to fight for eUSA incase of any external threat, however, directly their damage to other battles now with their own command structure probably having their own priorities may prove to be a handful.
This also goes to show the large amount of units who feel disenfranchised by the Executive and its policies. It is obvious that a large amount of work needs to be done by the next government to deal with this issue.
Internationally:
We live in times of great volatility internationally. The demise of EDEN coupled with possible skirmishes of CoT/TWO in the near future (already in progress in Romania vs Bulgaria- although Romania hasn’t officially joined TWO yet) means that any large display of force by the Americans needs to be done with great care - even more so because a possible invasion of the USA is quite likely. Spain has generally been pretty friendly towards eUSA since CTRL times, and although they are a TWO member, they are resisting the entry of Romania and friends into our enemy alliance. By acting against Spain, we have encouraged them back in the arms of TWO and undone a considerable amount of Foreign Affairs work. Good luck to the next SoS in dealing with the mess.
To sum it up, US-AIM has the ability to be an entirely new concept in the eUSA’s damage coordination. Whether it is for the best or not, remains to be seen.

That's about right.
Fight it, ignore it, or leverage it. What would you do?
Congrats US-AIM!
The problem comes when an independent group decides to determine for themselves "what are important battles" without checking if it will harm the eUSA's foreign policies and negotiations.
If these MU's felt they were really apart of the nation, maybe they would not see fit to create their own faction. Also if the leadership skills of those "in charge" were better this might not have come to be. The reason for this merger is 3 simple reasons. 1. Our eNation is shittier and more divided. 2. Our leadership is getting even shittier as the nation gets shittier. 3. eRepublik is very boring these days. As someone else said, this is Unity is for old friends and New. A place to feel like your wanted, appreciated, and would like to have some fun sitting in the front of the roller coaster. Sadly the eUS Armed forces is Robot like, quiet, military faction. Someone points to the battle and we fight.
this independent group is well suited to perform actions as they please. cause of game mechanics, you think the governing body has real power ? maybe your staff will actually open some talks with MUs now? maybe you will try to fix the situation if you deem it broken. I personally think this group works better than most, and I belive it will become even more powerful in the future. bottom line is, what makes you or any other "executive" more suited to "decide" what battles we are to fight in ? if the eUS is threatened, belive me, AIM will act as eUS's shield. until such a time, we do our own thing
If you want to destroy all diplomacy between nations and make the rest of the world consider eUSA to be as full of derps as Canada, then yeah, by all means go for it! Personally I'd prefer eUSA to have some credibility : )
what credibility ? please point me to it

CoT was a stupid thing to join in the first place, gov't stopped funding MU's. So MU's that self fund do what they want. Sorry that this F'es up king Pfiffers plans, but its happening, it's going to keep happening, so be a "political leader" and deal with it.
Also keep in mind that this is not a full time commitment, we intend to get together once in awhile for a fun time. The rest of the time each MU will do their own thing. As far as EZC, we will still follow NSC orders.
US-AIM is real fun. Old friends, new friends that party together from time to time with respect.
All I'm asking is that some consideration is given to the eCountry and its diplomatic efforts etc. I have no problems with people getting together for some fun times at all, just that maybe, you know, check out that it won't screw up anything ongoing. The doors of the CP and the SOW are always open! : )
Point taken.
My door is also open if you want to keep us in the loop of what is going on.
Maybe, if our government would give us something to fight for, as opposed to waiting, and waiting, and waiting, for something to happen from the outside, things like US-AIM would never even come to be. It's a war game. Give us some war.
lol, close those doors, you will need to conserve your heat, the gas bill is growing..... typical elitists- why dont you come to us ? afraid to get those dancing shoes dirty from our barracks ? ma'm, soldiers fight where instructed, orders come from COs. PM those COs if you feel it is needed
You seem to forget that I'm also a CO, and I have gotten my "dancing shoes" more than a little muddy on the battlefields in this game. It seems people forget that I'm a solider too!
excuse me missy. I thought you were a redcoat, and as such, my barrel is pointed at your kinsmen. you may be a soldier, but you sure as Hell aint Aiming right. I agree, more coordination is required to make better assaults and such, but, for that, you need ( you MUST ) open "negotiations" , and fast. also, clean those shoes, you are CP now, no need for you to muddy them when those boot lickers are still out there, in plentiful numbers. bottom line, don't go speaking of things you yourself messed up. and dont tell me of the time we "wiped" hungary during your last term. I remember that term, and I honestly think I did more for my unit that month, than you did for "your" country
Neron, what are talking about? In order to have ANY business done, both sides need to pull the sticks out of their butthurt and work together. sitting here trolling Artela because the last president didn't offer us a target to attack is NOT the way one should talk if they want to get work done. you want the Exec to let you know what is happening? fine, but getting pissy with them isn't the way to do it. Artela has a point here, if CoT wanted Spain to come to us, then AIM just kinda screwed that plan up. But they also should have been keeping the soldiers and the citizens up to day with what the world is doing, something to break the monotony of this game.
tl;dr: both sides are in the wrong here: Exec let us get bored, and AIM jumped the gun without warning. Quit being Butthurt oldfags and work together. Nobody except the AFA wants this country to fail.
josh, execs did not let us get bored, execs stole the fun. same team leads the country for over a year and a half, that I know of. thats just plain wrong. what am I talking about? just what I want to talk about. dont like it? gtfo
Screw up what? The eUS has NOTHING going on, hence the reason for US-AIM.
With the abolition of democracy because of the "Unity" process, citizens setting out for some fun is a good thing. In addition, the executive has lost the right to tell people what to do when it withholds our democratic rights. We'll decide our battles how we choose, not how the Executive tells us. When old friends walk away from the eUS because of the way they are treated, kudos to those citizens who stand by our old friends, such as Canada!
Canada is not a friend.
That is what most of this dissent is about
Influence talks, and it appears based on that, that eCanada is indeed a friend of at least some people.

The EXEC/CP & WH of the eUSA has been effectively, with a periodic exception, the same group of players for years.
Many believe that they have ruined the game for thousands of eAmericans who end up leaving or remain but are bored and disheartened because the Core Exec group has done nothing but consolidate power and control over; elections; parties; programs; finances and alliances. Many of these decisions have not been consistent with the wishes of most eCitz and the EXEC/CP & WH have effectively told eAmerica "Tough, we are the leaders" for years now..
What is obvious is that do not control the citizens and the actions of the MUs that many of these experienced, strong tank like citizens belong to, along with many newer players and many more mid age eAmericans who all want to actually have fun and not be subjects of a group of old players who run eUSA solely for their metagame enjoyment..
We, as both new, mid-age and experienced players are clearly taking back the eUSA by directly forming a military culture of friendship between like-minded MUs, that happen to include the majority of eAmericans, that is going to continue to focus of fun. If these adventures are aligned with the EXEC/CP & WH, then all the better, if not..... oh well, it's our game too and we want to have fun!
Gee, what would happen if this was to happen politically as well? Another SEED may have just be planted!
Animis, thank you for saying what I've been feeling for years.
