Time to change the economic module now...

Day 1,666, 04:00 Published in Greece Greece by MichailArchangel
The latest war module changes certainly give more power to the young players, making them quite more important in decisive battles, but also giving them much-much better chances to earn BH medals and gold.

This change will cause a huge multiple account explosion, but I won’t even start analyzing this….
…with this article I am making a proposal with which the admins can restore the value of the investment that older players made when they bought and/or upgraded companies.

As I have mentioned in previous articles, it is my belief that the economy of the game has been thrown out of balance with the introduction of the automatic currency exchange. It has enabled virtually every player to trade weapons and food. This created a global market, where prices are more or less about the same around the e-world, as thousands of players move around, buy and sell, maintaining this equilibrium.

This, however, created a huge problem among the citizens who have invested their gold in companies. It is becoming less and less profitable to own and operate companies compared to buying and reselling goods.

Any company owner who is seeing profits plummeting is having second thoughts about keeping his companies. If one makes no money out of an investment, this investment should be liquidated and the cash made should be redirected to profitable investments.

I am therefore proposing that the admins restore the value of the investment that players made when they bought and/or upgraded companies. They need to make a choice and either reward the players that invested in this game or lose them forever by allowing this economic anarchy.

The simplest solution, and the one easily implemented as a concept, is to somehow forbid players selling products they did not manufacture! This will eradicate all “traders” who make money with no risk and no investment. To make this happen, any product and raw material should be sold only ONCE!

All products must be somehow labeled as “X” when they are first produced, and then automatically re-labeled as “Y” once they are sold or donated. All “Y” products cannot be resold/redonated, but they can be consumed as usual. This way, the manufactures will be able to sell/donate their food, weapons and raw materials, but the player who buys them won’t be able to resell/donate them, he will only be able to use them.

Now name “X” whatever you like …… “new”, “for sale” or “in original package”.
Similarly “Y” can be “used”, “NOT for sale” or “opened package”.

It does not matter … make “X” green color and “Y” red color … do something to distinguish between the products that can be sold and the ones that cannot!

I am not sure whether this change can materialize from a software development point of view… or not. I just hope the admins soon recognize the problem and act accordingly. There is no better time to change the economic module than now, now that younger players can have a better shot at BH medals … and can earn some more gold.
