Time for Carnage

Day 1,785, 05:10 Published in Australia Australia by Chris Carnage

My dear friends and compatriots, I am humbled to advise that I have recently been appointed party president of the United Labour Front (ULF) following the unfortunate resignation of kid288.

Upon my escape from vile imprisonment one of my first duties was to rejoin the political world. Those who remember me may recall that my political orientation is somewhat to the left of centre. A humble servant of the revolution, I sought a party that would represent my political views, a hub of revolutionary activity in an otherwise dull and colourless world.

My choice was obvious, the only party representing my far-left, libertarian ideology in eAus today is the ULF. Upon joining of course I took pains to introduce myself to my fellow members, and not being one to sit back politely I chose to stoke the revolutionary fire by requesting the party membership to support me as party president in the upcoming election.

To my great joy the current party president kid288 bestowed his permission to my endeavour. To my greater surprise he has also now resigned his presidency, effectively bestowing upon your humble servant the honour of leading this great party, at least for a few days.

Though effectively granted the power to mould the party according to my desire my democratic principles impel me to hesitate in the implementation of major reforms without receiving an electoral mandate from the membership.

I take this opportunity to announce to the membership of the ULF, both current and future, my plan of action should you support me as party president.

Party Name and Logo

My first act will be to rename the ULF to the "Australian Communist Party" and assign the logo previously held by this venerable institution. Though this could be considered a purely symbolic and superficial change there are a number of more and less valid reasons for this.

Firstly I find the term "Communist" more broadly representative of the leftist revolutionary movements. The term "Labour", while descriptive in RL is not representative of a cohort in this eWorld. Who among us is not a landowner? Who among us does not own at least a field of wheat and a bread factory? These are granted to us at birth, there are few if any in this game who rely solely on labour for their daily needs.

Secondly the dominant economic model in this game is the military commune. Most reasonably experienced citizens do not rely on the labour market for employment but rather work in communes (both syndicalist communes for weapons supplies and personal communes for food supplies). As the bulk of economic endeavour in this game is fashioned on communist economic principles I find the title of 'communist' a more embracing term than 'labour'.

The third reason is more sentimental and indulgent. Your humble servant was a long-term member and oft-times party president of that delightful old mistress the ACP, and my heart longs for her tender embrace.

Manifesto

ACP was once upon a time the only party that had a defined manifesto, a clear set of principles and policies that set the party apart from those bland, centrist vote-machines that characterise the eWorld.

To be sure a manifesto for a revolution is an ambitious piece of work, but a little hard work is not beyond us. A party without a mandate/manifesto is no more than a social club.

So an early point of business will be the development of a manifesto that will provide the intellectual and ideological force to unite the leftist, revolutionary exponents of our great nation under a common plan of action.

Recruitment

I make no grand promises of rising to the top 5 in a month. I despise bribery and 'tactical' recruitment methods as short-term power-grabbing. Our growth shall be organic and sustainable, our ranks shall swell over time as the people come to realise that their salvation is not through blind adherence to the status quo, following the same well-trodden path that leads to our constant subjugation. A revolution is not a planned endeavour, not a formulaic prescription. The revolutionary fire burns at its own speed, at times smouldering and at other times raging. The revolution will follow its own course, but with inevitability will sweep across the land like a tsunami of destructive liberation.

TL😉R

Vote for Chris Carnage as party president of the ULF to bring back the most enduring revolutionary movement in eAustralian history, the Australian Communist Party.
