The Times Are a Changin'

Day 2,054, 01:12 Published in Ireland Ireland by The Irish William Wallace

There are a couple things we should be worried about in the Independent Labour Party and this doesn't just matter for the Party. This is a concern for eIreland as well.

In recent months we have seen new movements emerging in the political scene, a Non-Aggression Pact with eUK, as well as a competent Country President - Sweet Drinker. This has given us something to look forward to in eIreland. But behind this, is the story of Independent Labour.

With the last Country President term being an absolute disaster, Sweet Drinker gave eIreland its sovereignty back and we've had the first successful government in months. During this time we've seen several new and old players leave their respected parties and if they didn't join the Society of United Irishmen then they quit the game or left eIreland. In the ILP alone we've lost an alarming amount of people and other parties as well.

This closing gap of political power and the ILP's loss of a critical amount of voting base will surely shift the balance of power in eIreland. Eire Aonair is within reach of becoming the largest Irish party. A center party will for the first time take its place at the #1 rank in many many months.

What the ILP needs is strong leadership. What the ILP really needs is direction. Although we offer many benefits, activities, and brilliant minds - the lack of party will is the problem.

We need a planned, cooperatively coordinated, and strong platform for all elections. From the Party Presidency, Congress, and Country President. My only disappointment here this term was that the current leadership did not even put out an article explaining why they didn't endorse or run a candidate. It alienates members who aren't part of the Leadership Board.

I am running for Party President of the Independent Labour Party. I do not run because I don't think Liam would do a good job, he is a solid candidate who will most certainly be tough competition. But hear this, my brethren - I will do the best I can to make sure that every election the ILP will participate in, you will hear from the Party Leader directly, and promise we will once again see our membership rise along with a freer and socially equal eIreland!

Vote for me, Senator Palpatine in this upcoming Party President election. Vote for the Dark Side.

Yes. Very.
