The Army Times: Reporting from Croatia

Day 739, 04:33 Published in USA USA by George Armstrong Custer

This is a special edition of the eUSArmy Public Affairs Unit’s Army Times, reporting from a tour in Greece and a layover on the eCroatian front. Several of the top brass have given us a moment of their time to discuss the events that have recently unfolded in Croatia.

Less than 48 hours ago, Croatia was attacked by 3 different countries almost simultaneously. Serbia, Slovenia, and Hungary all sought to take a chunk out of this nation, in an effort that was surely to start the total takeover of Croatia. Seeing certain doom at the hands of the IndoHuns looming at their doorstep, Croatia called out to its allies for assistance. “WE OWN… this was a true testament to US/Allied cooperation, and the potential the US has as an EDEN country. We will defend our allies no matter what”, explained the recently-appointed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and former President, Gaius Julius after the events that took place in this epic tale of survival.

eUS President Josh Frost immediately mobilized the Armed Forces to answer this call for assistance, and as in several other nations, eAmerican troops began the long trip toward the battlefield. They met their Hun foes in the field of battle as the clock closed in on 1830 hrs. The onslaught began with combined EDEN forces needing over 300,000 points of damage to reclaim each of the territories.

Even with PEACE officially dissolved, the bonds her allies forged have largely remained strong. “…Indonesia is a country that should never be written off. They have very high tax rates, a great capacity for tanking, and they failed to wipe the eUS from the map in their first attempt. I think the dissolution of PEACE has weakened the perceived danger without mitigating any of the actual danger--we still face formidable adversaries..,” Four-time Cabinet member and General of the Air Force Publius reminded me. Today we were shown just how potent of an adversary they can still be, fighting off a large chunk of EDEN forces until the final few minutes of the battles. This was when the final trump card was played.

Amidst a swarm of Hungarian tanks, the eCroatian armies made their move. Fighting from the depths of defeat, EDEN, led by the eUS and eCroatian troops pressed in a positive change of damage in an impressively short time.
The first wave of eUS weapons fire coming a little after 1830 hrs with Advisor to the JCS Deficus calling the shots. He later commented on that assault, “I was very pleased. America is a pretty large nation, and it's easy to just assume we're going to put up millions of damage... but in reality we still have a long way to go with organizing the civilians and getting them all active. Our military is a testament to what you can do when everyone comes together under one flag. No joke, I was very impressed tonight.”

The fighting was fierce, with Croatian and other Allied Forces dealing their deadly blows beside us, and when the dust finally settled all three territories were still in their rightful owners’ hands.

The second wave of eUS fighters came as the battles came to a close, around 2200 hrs. Chairman Gaius Julius was in charge, and weighing the situation carefully as to whether or not a berserking situation was present. Lt. General Hadrian_X gave me some insight into how that crazy process goes. “ It's pretty chaotic. We need a better system... It’s better than me screaming out in the channel ‘I NEED DMG ESTIMATES!’… All the branches gave GJ estimates BEFORE the battle; then as for the decision to hold at 5 fights... he just watched and used his gut.”

Does this mean that the battle of supremacy is over? No, far from it. Our enemies are still out there. While they don’t share a common flag like they used to, they remain ever vigilant for us to grow complacent. ”I think the challenge is when we get complacent. That’s our biggest enemy. We won today, but that does not insure victory next week. We should always strive to do better and stay ahead of our enemies.” Gaius Julius issued this warning which we should take very seriously, since we have left a sour taste in the mouth of Hungary. "They have had their pride insulted several times by the eUS, and are surely plotting their revenge."

“We noticed the first difference when your first wave smashed the Hun scum, but that was just a indicator what would happen later in second wave. The second wave was like, OMG WOW! This was the hardest battle for Croatia so far… half of our economy is in Slavonia, maybe even more. Slavonia is our most precious region”, explained the charismatic and beloved President of eCroatia, Aurelije_the_family_guy. The gauntlet was cast, and eCroatia stood up and accepted the challenge. They displayed great bravery and honor in the face of three separate enemies.
Tonight we celebrate victory, an eternal friendship, and a brighter tomorrow. Fight on, brothers!

Revered statesman Publius states, “I think they will try again, though it's tough to tell it will be in the near future. The eUSA has always presented a great challenge to our enemies because of RL status, number of regions, and a despondent population. We've always been a target… now we have a strong, educated populace to back it up.”

So where does this leave us now? With PEACE (by any other name) still lurking in the shadows, and our umbrella of protection growing, what is next for the eUS? “That's a huge question actually and I don't know. We need to find a direction or we lose population. Right now we are in a good position to expand beyond our initial borders. I hope we don't blow this window,” Publius admits. So stick around and subscribe to this paper as the fireworks surely are not finished yet.

I wish to thank General Publius, CJCS Gaius Julius, Advisor JCS Deificus, Lt. General Hadrian_X, and most of all the eCroatian President Aurelije_the_family_guy. Stay tuned to this paper as more events unfold.
