Thank you, Army

Day 1,480, 23:48 Published in USA USA by Hekter

Today is one of the most momentous days I have had the chance of experiencing in eRepublik, and speaks volumes about the opportunities I have had in my comparatively short time in the eUnited States.

I was a citizen back years ago, in the old Conservative Party. I got involved because I thought the game was fascinating with the possibilities in the political module. Since then I rapidly grew, moved to the Philippines, served 4 official terms as President, all non-consecutive, 6-7 unofficially depending on your perspective, was a key in Sol, PACMAN, and Luna. I helped organize the landswaps that lead to the US’ presence in Asia for years to come. At last, I came back to the eUS a little over a month ago, and swiftly joined up with the Army.

The past 28 days have been fantastic. Despite coming in as an outsider, I was able to talk freely with my superior officers, jump into commune restructuring, and push us towards better efficiency. I fired my QM Food Cannon with speed, and I was given the opportunity to shine. In 20 days, I found myself in the Lieutenant General slot, reorganizing the platoons, replacing PCOs that were no longer as passionate about their jobs, and objectively assessing what areas needed significant improvement. Today, outgoing General Stephen Goldsmith decided that it was his time to move onto bigger and better things, and after 28 days I proudly wear the four stars of General. What follows now is a revamping of communes towards more tank production, elimination of administrative overhead, and continuing a tradition of excellency.

I am proud to be here, and I am most proud to know that the Army and the USAF is an organization that continually evolves to meet the needs of the time--that it does not stagnate. I will continue to serve as long as I feel I am the best person to lead the Army, and I will not overstay my welcome for more than a moment if I feel that someone else can do it better. This is your Army, not mine, and I am glad that we can stand together in it.

Thank you, Stephen Goldsmith, for providing me the opportunity to shine, and I thank everyone else for making the Army such a great place to be!

Additionally, I want to thank newly-promoted Lieutenant General eShades for accepting the position and pledging to help keep the Army at its best.

My hat is off to all of you, and if you have any questions or concerns, my inbox is always open.

Signed,
General Hekter
