Talent drain in Ireland
Death and Taxes

Just as in RL Ireland we are losing our best in terms of rank and talent. How do I know this? Simples. Your rank in Ireland depends on you level. I always looked upon breaking into the top 100 as being an achievement of sorts.
After getting to level 33 I finally got to that mark, but with no sense of achievement. Why? Because i remember that at level 31 I was going backwards. One day I would be ranked 128, next day I would be 130. All good though, because it meant better, stronger people were joining eIreland.
In the space of 10 days however, I am now ranked 86. This means that about 10 higher ranking citizens in Div 3 and 4 have left the country, not something to celebrate at all.
I'm worried. I'm concerned. Who are these people, and why have they left our country?

For some reason we seem to lose a lot of our players. They get bored or just can't stand the arguing that we seem to always resort to when things get tough. I have seen a couple of years of it.
Sometimes people just want to go someplace else, try something new. But I think a lot leave just because we just can't get our act together completely. In the end we just are to divisive. Too many Parties and MUs. Too much of my way is best and you are an idiot. Too much bad blood.
I wish it was not so and I have always tried to bring people together by treating everyone the same but that is not the way most people are.
Other reasons may be joining a country that has:
All the resources to produce food and weapons
Links to more surrounding countries allowing effective war campaigns
A wider mix of RL nationalities involved
Far away fields that are greener
Good points Frank.
It's a summer thing. Don't worry, they'll be back and the will bring noobs.
Well this was really boring month, we didn't moved from spot whole time.
Well at least we didn't go backwards. Glass half full approach.
Erep dies in summer and that's a good thing!
Sorry guys, but summer doesn't explain why people are leaving. Your toon doesn't go on holiday to Spain etc with you in eLife. I'm off for about a week, when I return I'll do a proper analysis..
The problem isn't just the summer. The problem is a lack of unity and a lack of a real enemy. There's a MPP with the brits so there's no bad guy to make a narrative to incite the country to go rout the bastards. Find an enemy, find a fight and you'll see activity jump. Oh and a competitive tax rate helps too, half of the reason I came to eIreland after my semi-retirement was just because the income tax is low.
