STATESMANSHIP v GAMEMANSHIP

Day 534, 15:40 Published in USA USA by Shopman

e Reality vis a vis e Life share many bonds.Allot of hard working confused folk. Allot of gamesmen. And as in ereality , the VERY rare statesman(woman).

A true statesman is very rare indeed. Even with the most patriotic varnish one could muster , we all should realize that even the "Founding Fathers" were far from perfect. Gamesmanship was involved. Don't get me wrong , there were far too many who showed true courage under fire , exemplary leadership and true patriotism. Still , self preservation and politics were at the core of many of our great leaders , past and present. The true statesman would carry a scarlet letter. In my eyes , this is true in elife and ereality.

This is said from a newb who has dutifully worked , trained , fought , read the papers and forums. Generally , just trying to get the hang of the game. I love to play games and I love politics. I'm still trying to figure out if I'm playing e Risk or e Chess. I suppose as in e Reality , I'm playing both.

Back to the point , Statesmanship. I've noticed one person who MIGHT fit my criteria. I will not name names but this person has authored papers that exemplifies e pluribis unim. The main reason for me not naming names is that I'm having a difficult time defining what is a statesman? (in both realms)

My wildest dream involves me being a statesman. I know I'm not , yet I try. It's a fine line between compromise and weakness. No one wants to be perceived as weak. That must be a e Human weakness. There is also a distinct line between logic and hubris that would enable a person to claim plausible deniability after committing genocide.

Erisk or eChess. Which are you playing?
