South Africa - The Forgotten Occupation

Even as tanks from PEACE GC roll into Canada and America, they remain in South Africa - where Indonesian and Brazilian forces have occupied the country for months. Once a vibrant nation, not a single territory of South Africa remains independent after the takeover, which began last year and was completed last month. Would the citizens of South Africa like to regain their independence? "Of course," said Ryan Dagari, a South African living in a territory currently occupied by Brazil. "What's a nation without a political system?"

Though there have been sporadic attempts to forcefully regain occupied lands - viewed by some as the final motivation for the complete takeover of South Africa - South Africans have continued to use peaceful channels as a means of regaining their lost lands. "Talks have started with the Brazilians for return of our territory, but they are less than receptive," Dagari continued. "It seems like every day they try to come up with some kind of excuse not to go through with it."

While PEACE GC continues to publicly take a stand against party takeovers, South Africa was the site of one led by Indonesians and Brazilians in late May, seizing control of the country, and spelling a final end to hopes that the southern portion would be re-united with the free north. Instead, they were united in separation - with the north being handed over to Brazil, and the south remaining in Indonesian control.

The irony that PEACE is currently invading the United States and Canada for their "past aggression" is not lost on Dagari. "It is a war machine, and that is all [PEACE GC] does. It is imperialistic and uses propaganda and world events to their advantage to extend their territory." But he is optimistic the world will come to see their hypocrisy, just as he has. "Its obvious that all this expansion will lead to [their] own collapse."
