Russians in Alaska - New Day, New Front

Day 602, 08:09 Published in Austria Austria by Rangeley

Russian forces have landed in Alaska, meeting initially light resistance and making easy progress against the American defenders. This invasion marks the creation of a second front in PEACE GC's invasion of North America - and the first time foreign soldiers have set foot in the United States in the New World. Though there have been few official releases from the United States, a military report urges American forces not to "rush to Alaska," and that "Nova Scotia should remain your first priority until you hear otherwise through official channels."

Overnight, Canadian forces proved far more successful than initially anticipated, not only pushing out of the underground, but back into the outskirts of Nova Scotia. The Austrian Independent speculated that it would be vital for Canadians to at least emerge from the underground should they hope to win the battle against a second, renewed phase. This phase has begun, with PEACE GC striking back and once again pushing the Canadians into the underground.

As a little less than 3 hours remain before a victor can be declared in the battle, both sides may prepare to make final pushes, seizing control before the clock runs out. Canadians have already made the first key step of showing it to be possible - the world will watch closely to see if it can be repeated again. And The Austrian Independent will stay on top of this story as it develops.
