Return Here with a Shrubbery

Day 3,891, 11:05 Published in Greece Greece by Asterios C

My Military Unit (MU) is The Knights Who Say Ni (aka MU.NI, or simply Ni). I ended up here after I switched parties from GIP to Isopoliteia. Back then, lots of Isopoliteia party members were also Ni unit members. I thought joining the unit where my new party had a strong presence would help make my transition smoother. It did. Both Isopoliteia and Ni accepted me with open arms and made me feel at home right off the bat. But, even though, I’ve since moved on from Isopoliteia too, I’m still around with Ni.

You may assume it was forethought and calculation that brought me to Ni. Well, actually it was not. It may have been the exact opposite to be honest. I’d watched them operate long before I became a member and I’d grown to appreciate their style of play. In a time when most Greek MUs were dead serious, mean fighting machines (think Myrmidons, 7NHSA, Arch-Angels, Hellenic Army in their prime), NI offered a more easygoing, light-hearted alternative. They branded themselves as a mischievous fellowship, a wandering circus almost, when most other competitive MUs preferred to identify as exclusive, die-hard, high-hitter clubs.

Years later not much have changed in spirit, though the group and its members have grown in ranks and achievements. A very unique internet subculture has emerged, weaving into the tapestry of the Ni theme. It’s still obscure Monty Python references, hardcore spamming, light tanking and all around jolly fun. Nerd-friendly and tactical, though not particularly strategic, Ni remains a perfect choice for the slightly introvert, yet community-driven players who like to take their time doing things and their idea of fun doesn’t necessarily entail smashing red buttons. Oh, and if you’re a foodie you might enjoy our fb group that’s practically a foodporn blog.
