Resigning from the CvP

Day 581, 17:31 Published in USA USA by Hekter

It is with great difficulty and a heavy heart that I announce today that I must leave the CvP. While I never quite saw entirely eye-to-eye with most CvP candidate's policies, I enjoyed working with (nearly) every member of the party. The CvP chat has been blissfully calm during most of my stay, much moreso than any other party chats I've visited, and I've worked more for informing the populace of the CvP than anything else, personally sending over 1700 Private Messages to make sure members were informed during my two-month stay. (For me, that's a lot. Carpal tunnel hates me.)

Why leave, then, if I enjoy the people so much? Why abandon a party I've spent evening after evening (Actually, every evening for over two months), even on vacation, building up? While I enjoy working with the CvP Council, I cannot continue to be affiliated with a party that has nearly (within 3% of the vote) decided to select Ajay Bruno to run for President of the United States--A candidate that cannot separate Real Life from eLife with no prior experience in Congress or the Executive Branch at all, doesn't even hold a real position in the CvP Council, and that refuses to apologize for using overly offensive terminology* whilst insisting to whistle-blowers 'grow up!'. I have done my best to avoid any form of 'mudslinging' in any campaign I've worked on but I believe this situation justifies it. Any party that comes that close to deciding to choose that sort of character to represent them in a bid for the highest office in the eUS does not deserve my hard work and dedication. They have obviously rejected reason.

I also cannot continue to work with a senior leadership that continues to promote Ajay's behavior. To quote my IRC declaration:

(%Hekter) Mattoze5, if you have any concerns with the site, feel free to message me any time, but effective immediately I am resigning my Council Position as CvP Party Whip and voluntarily revoking my membership in the CvP for the repeated defense of Ajay and his actions, as well as a complete inability to continue to work in a party that gives him any sort of position of power or special treatment.
(%Hekter) I cannot continue to work in an environment which promotes his growth as an eRep politician and citizen. I have greatly enjoyed working with every other party member here--and I truly adore working with the rest of the council and members, especially with increasing communication and activity within the party.

Of course, there are always the people I really enjoyed working with, and here are some shout-outs to the coolest members.

Jaxon Leith -- You were my partner the entire way through, and I hope we can continue to work together in the future despite this tragic event.**

Mattoze5 -- You were a wonderful man to work with, but I suggest thinking on a bit broader of a scale. Sometimes you have to say 'no' for the betterment of all.

Angelini, Dodgercatcher, Newton, etc. -- We saw eye-to-eye this entire way through, and it was a pleasure to converse with you all privately as drama raged above in larger chatrooms.

Cromstar -- Reach for the stars, man. You are one of the few that know what they're doing. Don't let your talent go to waste.

There are, of course, others that I had an excellent time with in #cvp3, but for the sake of space I shall spare you all.

As for the future, I plan to join the Federalist party, which has views and policies closer to my own, and Jaxon and I have a pet project that will take up a considerable amount of time that you all will hopefully hearing about soon.

Peace out.

It was a legitimate showing of Ajay's blatant racism in IRC, and it was reported by Ajay and removed by the Admins. I believe it is currently being contested and still being worked on and improved for re-publishing.)
