PRINT SOME BLOODY MONEY
screamingslave
its been a while since i've written, honestly this country's political scene is a bit of a gong show and i just needed to take a break.
but now i need to say something.
what the hell is happening with our money?
seriously.
do we want our currency to trade 1:1 with gold or what?
my ability to pay my workers has fallen from from 1 gold giving me 35 CAD all the way to 30 CAD in a little over 1 1/2 weeks. i've watched as my export profits get tighter and tighter.
great the governments tax money goes farther, but if businesses fail there will be no tax money now will there.
its time to print some cad guys. maybe you dont need to take it all the way back but lets at least STABILIZE IT!!!!

The Current government does not know squat about how to manage an economy
Best to wait till the next one ...
Actually, ur export profits are only getting lower because you have failed to adjust your wages.
If you keep ur wages the same, then basically a fall in currency would mean that you are advocating an indirect decrease of your workers. What has happened by NOT adjust your worker's wages with the rising CAD, is that you are suffering an indirect increase in the pay of your workers.
Remember, it doesn't matter how much the currency is worth, it matters how much you pay your employees (in gold value), and how much the goods cost (in gold value).
The only reason I advocate printing money is because there is a lot of money to be made (for FREE) if we can make sure that wages and prices adjust accordingly.
You state the very reasons I have delayed in starting my company into production ;_)
Dont listen to oct f ...
adjusting wage vs unstable currency is un relevant ... 😑''
Hear Hear! (apologies to Alaric)
The government HAS money, they're just too lazy to regulate the market effectively.
Please keep the currency stable! A 13.3% shift in under a week is NOT good. If you want to peg the CAD at something then announce so we can prepare.
Jacobi,
You know that's not true.
And since you're willing to lie so brazenly in public I assume you must be gearing up for the elections already.
Octavian illustrates once again he doesn't know squat about economics - business owners who want to retain employees have watch what the market is paying and more or less match it - business owners don't control prices or wages - its plain old supply and demand finding equalibrium wage an price levels
Sorry. Not too lazy. Too incompetent.
That better? 🙂
Are Billy and Jacko going to have another oh so public squabble.
Let me get the popcorn.
@octavian: man your hilarious. if i started pushing my wages lower my very very loyal employee's would take one look at the current job market and quit. i can lower wages when its justified but not when the money market is all over the map.
they dont care what gold is worth they care how many guns and food they can buy.
i'm so glad hardly anybody voted for you man.
@TP: Yeah i'm waiting patiently.
@W😨 seriously man. it does not matter if your lazy, incompetent or just drunk all the time. the fact is the dollar IS RISING IN VALUE and since its been doing that consistently one can only draw a single conclusin. whatever your doing, if anything is not effective and you need to do MORE!!!
@jacobi. i did not realize they had that pile of money sitting around.
i guess they ARE waiting till its 1:1 and then they will put the offer out there to max out their gold.
I just printed some money in my *cough* lab with sexy ladies on it, will anyone accept this *cough* legal tender? anyone...
My new company cannot compete for employees with the wages the way they are. I cannot even compete on the market of a foreign market where they don't even have the natural resource. Do I just fold the company until our dollar adjusts, seriously wtf gives.
I have to agree that the Canadian dollar value makes doing business hard. And while it may be tempting to adjust wages, the only way I could justify that is if the company will go under unless it's done. Otherwise the extra expense is worth keeping loyal employees.
Agreed. Congress has tried to move in this direction. Unfortunately, the current executive branch does not agree.
