Pfeiffer for President - Break's over

Day 3,205, 07:12 Published in USA USA by Pfeiffer.

This announcement is brought to you by the Pfeiffer for President Campaign

It's happening, guys.

I have wrestled with this decision for months, if I'm being honest. We've seen President after President walk through the doors of the Oval, excited and full of energy, just to sit down in that comfy chair and do a whole lotta squat.

That changes this month. This month, I'm offering an alternative. Instead of a candidate promising more of the same, a continuation of whatever policies are in place and easy, I'm presenting you with something different.

A President who works.

The game is smaller, our country is smaller. We need to recognize this and adapt accordingly. It is my intention to make my cabinet reflective of the type of game I think we need to be playing.

We don't need two people sharing any job. We don't need a large cabinet acting as if they're overseeing the departments we once ran in 2009 and 2010. What we need is what we had in the beginning. People who had a job and did them. If they needed help, they found it, but that never shifted responsibility for the work.

We will have the following 'departments':

Defense
Interior

See how simple that is?

Now, in a 'normal' month, you would have a state department as well. However, in my goal of both streamlining things and in ensuring that work is getting done with minimal signal loss in communication, I will be directly handling our foreign affairs. My friend Wild Owl will lend his expertise in our alliance affairs, and I will abuse my relationship with khotko and ask him to act as a conduit for me with Russia. But I will not in any way abdicate the role of Chief Diplomat.

With the changes to USAF funding, and the lack of any direction at all coming from the current Executive, the first order of business for Defense will be to have a conversation about what the membership (and current leadership) of USAF wants. I will be personally surveying the membership, sending out two messages in my first three days asking for them to respond to a short survey about what they would like to see us do for them. Because that's what it is about. Once we have that data, we will formulate a plan to act on it. Funding will be found, as needed, organization will be created to execute the plan, and then we will get to work.

My hope is that we can center the USAF on training. And not just military training, but on every aspect of both mechanical and meta play in the eUS. We had a series of 'missions' for new players once upon a time, it would not be overly difficult to do something similar in order to get our new people into the fold.

I have not yet selected a Secretary of Defense, that will be done based on the needs of the unit. As a filler, Inwegen will hold the title for the first few days of the administration, since it is the only Constitutionally required role I fill. Once we know what the unit wants, the position will be filled on a long term basis. The NSC will return to primarily being a council of MU leaders. Our larger MU Commanders and their senior staff will have access to the IRC room where the NSC currently 'meets' and that will act as their conduit through which to reach me. 'Orders' (such as they are) will be set by any number of people based on our alliance needs.

Started from the bottom now we here

Interior will be a whole other ball of wax.

I won't be terminating the current leadership there (Civilian Affairs) on day one. I would ask that they stay on for a day or two in order to fully outline for me the last month of their work, so as to give me a more full understanding of what has been going on in recent weeks. I haven't seen much, but I also don't take part in 'new' player activities or programs directly.

Some things which will certainly be different there, but my goal is not to upend any programs which are currently doing good work. The question of the day is which are and which aren't. So we'll sort that out.

I will continue running my 'radio' show on beam, and will create with the eNPR team a schedule providing for three evenings of entertainment each week. I will take two of them most weeks, since eNPR should (and will) have more educational aspects it will take more work to prep and execute. I am going to ask current quasi-host Israel Stevens and eNPR co-founder Cerb to lead up this endeavor. They have known each other for years, and I think together we will be treated to quite the show from these two. How and where we broadcast eNPR will be worked out with whoever owns the eNPR beam account. More on that when it's finalized.

They give me two mics so you can hear me twice as loudly

Media will be the responsibility of my Chief of Staff (to be announced, I'm hoping to finalize that today), since it will primarily be a blurb from me, two pieces from our two departments, and then some sort of trivia/game where I can give away some money. Easy, simple, and out at least twice each week. No more radio silent Presidents. No more 'game nights' nobody knows are happening. Direct and regular communication. Even those who hate me have to admit that I made sure to publish regularly when I was President.

We have, as a country, been resting on our laurels. We've been taking a little break. Letting the hard work of people like Deepchill and his staff in EZC do our job of retention and damage direction. Sure, that's the job of our military units, but it isn't solely their responsibility. The burden rests with all of us, and I am going to see to it that everyone walking around talking about how important they are is contributing to our shared responsibility to get the job done.

The break is over.

This game, and more importantly the community of players we have around the world, has been a part of my life for many years. I don't want to lose this. The admins have made it so that we can't be what we were, but we can be something, instead of this pit of apathy and entropy we have been.

To my friends, thank you for your support and your friendship. I appreciate your support and look forward to working for you once again.

To everyone else, I'm not asking you to like me. I can still be your boogeyman. I can still be the thing you rally against. If you need me to be that, fine. Don't like me. But don't lie to yourselves. When I take on a job, I work hard at it. I am relentless. I will give everything I have to doing it well, and even if you hate me...you know that my ego won't allow me to simply sit on my butt and fail. I have a plan. I am going to see it executed. Everyone will benefit.

With that, I ask for your support in both your party primaries (should you have them), and on the fifth.

I will be hosting a special edition of The Pfeiffer Show tonight at 1800 eRep time, all about the election. We'll cover my plans, my desires, and answering questions posed by the community (in the comments here and in the live chat on beam).

The show will be broadcast on beam, so I can randomly surf around eRep while talking with America. Register on beam and click that follow button so you are alerted when the show goes live. I will be giving out prizes to random viewers throughout every show, and followers get DOUBLE PRIZES. So it's really in your best interest to follow the stream 😃

So follow at beam.pro/JSPfeiffer (an official member of Team Clopoyaur - THE CLOPO CREW - watch Clopo at beam.pro/clopoyaur).

I remain

Your obedient servant,

~Pfeiffer
