Lets actually talk about PTOs.

Day 799, 10:58 Published in USA USA by Zcia
What the hell is a PTO?

Well a PTO is a tricky term to really unpack because it so frequently refers to the other sides "saving" of democracy. In its most basic sense PTO stands for Political Take Over and it refers to a use of game mechanics based elected governmental positions in order to cripple or destroy a country.

How does a PTO work?
Well a hostile group seeks election into congress or the country presidency. In the instance of the congress the goal is often a simple majority or close enough to a simple majority that active senators will allow them to have a voting majority. At that point it is common for the congress to begin rapidly printing domestic currency as well as donating away all the countries currency and gold reserves they have access to.

A presidential PTO is usually based on military goals and to my knowledge has only been performed in isolation once (a la shoot). In these rare instances the PTOer has until his impeachment goes through (in an organized country 24-36 hours; in Russia 1-2 weeks 🙂 ) to wreck primarily military havoc on the country through retreats. This tactic is less common due to it requiring an open war and either an extremely effective sleeper agent or large amounts of moving on presidential election day.

The frequently sought after and rarely achieved full PTO usually involves obtaining 67% of the congress and 2nd place in the previous presidential election. This allows the congress to impeach the sitting president and gain full control of the country. This tends to be a doomsday scenario for any PTO situation.

I thought PTOs went extinct?
The introduction of citizenship has indeed made successful PTOs much more difficult than they were back when I started playing. Citizenship largely acts as a voting filter meaning that you can't vote in a national election unless you have the right citizenship. Unfortunately this system has quite a few loopholes including resurrection citizenship and the slow PTO.

Slow PTO? That sounds terrible!

A slow PTO is when a group utilizes the slow accumulation of senators and thus citizenship approvals to allow an influx of voting allies. A little bit of math shows that in a very short time one could accumulate seats rapidly in the eUS. Election 1: One senator @ 5-9 votes yeilds 20 citizenships, 2: 25-29 votes--> 3-4 senators--> 60-80 citizenships, 3: 85-109 votes-->10-15 senators-->200-300 citizenships, 4: Trouble...

O...M....G.... We are so screwed and are all going to die! They just won enough seats to move to phase 3 which is only one phase from phase 4! Should we just give up?

This is actually why I am writing this article.

The recent PTO attempt should not be considered a true threat to American sovereignty because only through or own inaction and gross failure could it be actualized.

Now I am not the kind of person to just make claims without some kind of plan to back them up so I present to you Zcia's Four Step Plan to PTO Proof the Eus aka ZFSPPPE.

1. Party President Elections
-I honestly think this is our point of greatest vulnerability and thus needs the most national attention.
- ALL parties should add to their constitutions a section regarding PP eligibility so we, as a nation, at least have some sort of legal basis by which to vote against potential PTO candidates. Even better you should develop a method of pre-selection or a specific way to decide potential PTO elections so we can focus all help on one candidate. (This is mainly if you have candidate A and B running and PTOer C shows up. You should have a way to pick if A or B is the winner relatively early in the day.)
-I think the above things are important because I can remember the days when preventing a PTO could be seen as a sign of legitimate party on party warfare.
- Active voters should hold their PP votes as long as possible since most PP elections are clear cut anyways. Those extra votes will allow us to protect smaller parties later in the day.

2.The 23rd of the Month
- The main concern here is a 6th or 7th party with a PTOd president surging into the top five and thus getting a chance to fill all the states with PTO candidates which makes every race a party v party v party v them situation, which if you don't know American politics is a bad one.
- This is where I think the Homeguard and other branches of the military could really come in handy. Most service members don't maintain party affiliations which means we have a reserve of several hundred individuals good at taking orders that can be directed to boost party numbers. We should implement a Omega scenario plan that can be used to mobilize these branches in both the PP elections and to prevent a potential 23rd surge.
- As a side note a good way to prevent this threat is to closely watch ALL PP elections to protect most of the top 8-10.

3. The 24th of the Month
- This is the much debated blocker scenario. Granted technically this would need to be taken care of before the 24th but it wouldn't flow as well if I said that. Blockers are place holders that allow PPs to select guaranteed non PTO candidates. Why don't they just not select anyone you ask well I am sure they would if they could but each PP has to accept at least one candidate for each region with someone applied in it.
- The reason blockers have always posed a problem is directly linked to the fact that we have a boatload of regions. 5 parties x Over 50 regions= over 250 candidates +blockers needed each election.
- Honestly though if more effort was put into this the top 3 parties alone should be able to cover the entirety of the eUS's blocking needs and if they can't handle it call in the Homeguard.
-This is a place that sixth party candidates can shine. They want spots in elections, parties can't run in every region, sounds like a match made in heaven to me.

4. The 25th of the Month
- At this point we should have a good idea how severe the threat is. I am going to classify them as minor, moderate, or severe.
- Minor: Chances are we don't know about the threat if we haven't been following the steps outlined above (this is what happened this election). Parties at this point should come together and identify the winners in possible PTO states granted this may be a time sensitive decision but it should be easy to make in most of the wasteland. Party snipers as well as any available reset votes should be directed to these PTO races. Vote moving in non PTO races should carry significant consequences even if it is just public shaming.
- Moderate: I would outline a moderate threat as one in which over ten races are in contention with PTO candidates. In this instance I believe the military should be called in in addition to the party sniper squads. The home guard is extremely underutilized as an anti-PTO force in domestic settings. PPs should rapidly declare winners in contested races and begin to prioritize wins based on vote distance from the PTO candidate.

- Severe: A PTO threat of this size should be something we are aware of beforehand. If we aren't aware ahead of time we are probably already failed at multiple steps of the plan. At this point the eUS should have a declared "American Slate" on the 24th at the latest. All American votes should be directed to these candidates and military units should be recalled to vote as well. If the full military is recalled as well as every active american is voting for approved candidates party snipers should be able to protect an American majority.

Well that was a lot of talking are you done now?

Yeah I am. You can trust me when I say if there is one thing I know it is eAmerican politics. This system can and will resist a foreign PTO if we maintain vigilance. At the same time this is not a panic situation calm coordination is how this problem gets solved not violent over reactions.
