How low can we go?
screamingslave
Today i was checking the job market to make sure i was paying my employee's fairly. For the first time ever i found i was vastly over paying my employee's.
I cant believe a skill 4 land job wage has dropped from an average of 8 to 9 dollars a day down to a highest offer of 6.8 a day. This is a wage that was once not even good enough to attract a skill 3 worker with 70 wellness living in a non hospital region!
This leaves me wondering has the bubble burst?
if so what do we do next?
Maybe more importantly, how low can we go?
What happens to companies and employee's when we cant go any lower? when the economy deflates to the point where a skill 3 employee makes minimum wage?
it does not help anybody to have cheap goods if our employee's make no wages.
Is this the future of our economy?
I'm not trying to scare people, i'm just not sure what we can do. with goods being produced faster than they can be consumed it leaves me wondering.
Is the only solution a change to the game mechanics?
is this guy our only hope?
normally i have some great solution to the problem i write about but today i'm looking for your thoughts, your ideas.
So please, canadians:
and lets try and fix this!

"I'm not trying to scare people..."
I, for one, am scared shitless.
"Is the only solution a change to the game mechanics?"
Admins are already working on the new econ. module, so a fix is (hopefully) on the way soon. The biggest problem at this point is just increased production without increased consumption.
I told congress that wages where dropping, but they seem pretty confident that it'll be alright so I'll trust them 😉
we can go pretty low, as long as i can eat, hopes that answers your question
The problem is, there is not enough customer in Canada for all the goods we are producing. This provoke lower prices in an attempt to sell the production and thus in a reduction of salary.
The only solution in an economic view is to get more customer, which mean to sell on the international market. There is than an other problem that comes out, companies have to pay 20 gold to sell in other nations where the taxes are so high, it is impossible to sell. Seriously, the game is not made for international business and that is a problem. (Especially when we think eCanada like Canada in RL have a really good potential for exportation with all the resources we have here.)
Also, I have to say that even if the salary is decreasing, so are the prices. Basically, there is no problem for the living expanses. The reel problem is for goods where the prices doesn't go down like houses and guns (in times of war.)
I think it is an issue where "this guy our only hope". The game mechanic is the problem since it is to hard to sell on the international market. (Just think a moment of a company with 5 licenses. It is 100 gold it had to pay for the licenses.)
