So I opened eRepublik today after being away for a week, and I found out that I became a congressman. I was suprised, pleasantly. So out of excitement I went to see what I could do with my powers. The first thing I noticed were the citizenship requests. I read them all and approved the ones I thought were OK people. Then I saw I could propose laws and wanted to try that. I went to propose minimum wage of 200 which didn't seem weird to me since my salary was 240. I guessed that the law wouldn't pass, but I guessed it doesn't hurt to try, right?
Wrong.
Later this day I came to eRepublik and I noticed everyone is talking about me. I went to check the forums for the first time (I didn't even know that all the politics were handled on the forums), and saw 2 threads about me threating me like an eTerrorist.
So to clear a few things up:
"He's a multi or a noob" - Kinda both and neither, I played the game a long time ago but deleted the account, but I'm still bad at it.
"Befriend him and educate him" - This is the part that bothered me. There's so many people here arguing and speculating about me. But none of them decided to just ask me why I did what I did. And noone educated me on anything. From what I read, I shouldn't have even been elected.
So, what do I plan now. First, I was a bit angry at all the anger towards me, so I wanted to troll and leave after. Then I read up on things on this forum and realised that your overly complicated system is kinda cool. So here's what I plan to do.
I will remain a congressman until the next elections. After that I will leave eUSA and move to a smaller and hopefully less serious country (this isn't meant as an insult, it's just that I don't really like all these procedures and stuff), if you know a country that I would like by this description please recommend it to me. I will try to go there and get citizenship which I guess shouldn't be hard if I say I was a congressman in eUSA. There I'll try to get a new start in politics.
Sorry for all the trouble I caused, but also fuck you to all of you who speculated stuff without actually knowing or asking about it.

Sincerely, what you observed, is something that can't be hidden. In eUSA there's a huge establishment that takes politics and especially the "meta" part VERY seriously. This often discourages and stop players from getting involved, but even fascinates others who then struggle to be part of that power. I don't like that, but when I was in congress I always respected it and behave as I was supposed to do.
Despite of the responsibility of others, which can be real, I suggest you to take the political part of the game maybe in a less formal way, but seriously too. The politicians in this game should be (and rarely are) as the kid who is supposed to bring the ball at the playground. If he doesn't, noone can play. So many times the politicians are, instead, the ones who pretend to say "my ball, my rules". If you candidate for congress and don't access the game often, don't interact with others, don't take care of analyzing the situations before starting a proposal, you will miss the point as much as those who hurted you do, because politics is serving, even in a game, since everyone benefits of your service.

Sounds like me a couple years ago. You have to REACH out FAARR into the "serious" play of intense players. Explore USAForums intensely. Find a player you feel good about communicating with.

That was happened to me when i was in SFP that mistake burn me in the country and in SFP, he did exactly what i did but the congress members decide to suspend me 🙁

Hey... You are very right... We as a congress often forget to ask people directly "what happened" etc. I'm very sorry this happened to you, and I am upset at your pp and party for not having properly educated you etc...
However, please don't take all of this as a reason to leave. I'm not going to suggest to you to leave the party or anything like that, but take a step back, use this as a learning opportunity, and see if this country is worth your time...
Again and again, I would like to remind Congress that IT'S POSSIBLE TO CONTACT A ROGUE CONGRESSMAN to know what's wrong with them, to get to know the reasons behind any actions. It's possible to open an investigation, have an inquiry, whatnot.
Just stop behind so navel-gazing, Congress!

Rising the minimum wage in one country is totally uneffective nowadays. If you do, then the players will make another holding in a country without that limit and hire people there, so you will just lose their work tax.
I have holding company in iran the uk min wage law still applies to me as i'm uk citizen what you are saying dont work , uk min is 100 and so is mine in iran

If your offer is below a national minimum wage then it won't appear in ththe list for people to accept.
Work tax for employees is paid to the employee's citizenship government (in other words all eUS employers collect work tax for the government). The locality of holdings only affects the countries where job offers are visible (as well as bonuses applicable etc).
That sounds better, since when the module was issued many proposed different solutions. Anyway there isn't a big change in that: when you change CS, nowadays, your employee don't get fired like it was some time ago, so many could simply move somewhere else and hire, and then come to eUSA with low wages that would be unaffected.
You also must really take into account the Communes that pay 1 dollar but give much more worth that in pay per day of benefits its not a gouge if i pay you 100 a day and give you 200 worth in food and weapons.

I would encourage you to stay in eUS. Watch Public Congress. It's not that complicated if you know what's going on. I can understand how it's overwhelming at first.

The Party President didn't prepare you because he didn't predict you were going to get in(I know, a bit of a bad excuse, and one that should definitely not happen again).
