Day 3,413, 14:03 Published in Japan Serbia by BastovanSurcinski
Respected all. And everyone else.

The third edition is here, now with Oraizan. A real pleasure, I must admit. Enjoy.

BastovanSurcinski:

Oraizan, thank you for doing this interview. Hopefully, it will bring us all closer.

Can you, for the starters, tell us something about yourself in general, where you live in RL, age etc...

Oraizan:

Thank you for the opportunity!

My name is Allison IRL, I am 25. Currently living in Canada where I got my business degree, and I plan on going back to university in the next couple of years. I originally was eBorn in eJapan because I'm a huge fan of Japanese culture and media. I am the type of person that has a million interests and hobbys, and can never pick one.

BastovanSurcinski:

That sounds great! Would you mind sharing your interests with us? You can back it up with pictures, videos, links, whatever you find suitable...

Oraizan:

As some of you know, I relate closely with Patchouli from Touhou.

Aside from the fact that our health is similar, one of my most favourite interests is reading and writing. At this point I read pretty much every genre, but my favourite above all are philosophy and fantasy novels. My favourite author of all time is Garth Nix. (The man is a genius.) If you’re interested, read his old kingdom series: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Kingdom_(book_series)

Writing is something I toy with, and the idea of turning it into a career. Obviously that didn’t happen, it’s not the most stable of jobs and I enjoy it more as a hobby. I mostly just pen down emotions, and the occasional plot outline or lore for my own made up worlds.

One of my creative writing assignments:
Falling; the endless battle with oneself, should be easy, simple, clear. The inability to understand your own thoughts, each night it brings a new explosion, a painful silence, tears.

Endure.

One's sufferings end brings another, another night of questions as the answer. May a break down be the only sin, my tear stained pillow cannot withstand.

Withdraw.

Into the shell, the negative is outlawed. Ignorance saves the soul, changes, at least - until the final explosion erupts.

The end.

Under the blue moon, I live. Live to another day, simply, empty. Beautiful moon, always smiling...

Jealousy.

Even in the darkest hour it brings light, bright - looked upon with its gallant smile. Through my eyes; green. Far too free, free... impossible. Yet, in those eyes,

I love.

For Music, I listen to all genre’s but anything with a strong vocal lead or acoustic usually sticks in my head the most. Ueda Tatsuya is my favourite artist of all time, with Sofia Talvik a close second. I’ll just give you some examples!
Ueda Tatsuya - Ai no Hana

Sofia Talvik - Lullaby

Oscar Isaac - Fare Thee Well

The only other main interest I have is (of course) cats!

(Me and my baby Souda)

I have tons of interests that I won’t bother with unless you want since they don’t have the same passion. It’s mostly just: gardening, gaming, knitting/sewing, cosplay, anime/manga, jdorama, film, photography, piano, guitar, etc.

BastovanSurcinski:

Where are you from in RL and how did you end up in eJapan? What has kept you here so far and what is keeping you here at the moment? Which moments would you cherish, and which ones would you rather forget? eRepublik wise.

Oraizan:

I'm from Sweden. I researched a little bit about eRepublik before joining, and in the end I decided to start my character here mostly based on common interests. At the time I had more interest in japanese culture and anime/manga than I do now, and I’m not the least bit patriotic so I figured it would be a more enjoyable experience. eJapan was also just out of beta and the activity levels were arguably worse than now so it was a place where joining would actually make a difference.

At first I kept playing eRepublik because of the people that I met here, both in eJapan and out. Some people I have been friends with since the beginning, have met RL and consider some of my best friends. Aside from that the game WAS fun and sucked you in, back in those days. I think that without SOS and some new friends I would have left, but lately I just don’t want to give up.

One of my favourite times is the event that started Empress Day. For a while when I started eRepublik this newspaper would publish 24/7 about electing an emperor, and of course most people were skeptical and thought that he just wanted the title himself. A group of us decided to have some fun while everybody's favorite cat was CP and we released a string of articles giving some of us titles. It started about here in my newspaper: https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/empress-oraizan-777188/1/20
It was a fun event, and in the end I created Empress Day and MoCHE became a legitimate position on the cabinet.

My first time running for CP was stressful and if I could do it over I would have 2 clicked for a good chunk of that time. My RL health was a mess prior to elections and eJapan was in somewhat of a bad place so someone was needed that would really make some changes. Some people noticed that I was off and I had an inbox full of conversations about it and nearly didn’t run. In the end everything worked out fine, but eRepublik is a game and I feel that it should take stress away - not add it.

BastovanSurcinski:

Great! Tell me, since you managed to tell me more or less everything I wanted to hear in just two answers, is there anything that you would like to add for the end of our talk?

Oraizan:

Nothing I can think of, Thank you for the opportunity! 😁

That's all for now. Until next time!

Cheers!
