fingerguns gets to know… shadowber

Day 3,200, 19:53 Published in USA USA by fingerguns

I am continuing my series of interviews where I get to know players that I didn’t know last time I played this game. This one was actually a little tricky because shadowber and I have hit it off so quickly. We work together well and we chat regularly, so I had to pretend I haven’t already spoken to him at length about all of these things. Still, I did learn something new. So join me in getting to know shadowber a little better.

So what's your screen name all about?

It's complicated and connected to rl. Let's just say it's sort of an amalgamation of my rl name. It's been my online handle for over a decade. I also like the fact that it has shadow in it. My online presence so to say is a shadow of me....

How long have you been playing eRep?

Since March 24 2013 to be exact. Well depends what you mean by playing. My process was pretty gradual. I started off trying to take in the whole thing at once, and quickly whittled it down to two clicking for quite a while. After about a year and a half I started to slowly branch out.

When you started branching out, what did you pursue? All things at once or did you start with an MU or a party or what?

I think I started with SHIELD and then Feds. Then I ran for congress and that was probably the first big thing I did in erep.

So you are in two of the biggest, baddest groups in the game- the Feds and EZC.

Yes, I feel very lucky in that. I am a Fed by luck, EZC was more thought out. But if I wasn't I'd probably have quit. When I started playing I got mm'd by ajay and being that I had no idea what was going on I joined the (I think) AFA. It didn't take me too long to realize that he was nuts, and I exited the AFA. I then basically just "threw a dart" and it landed on Feds.

The EZC I joined with a lot of hesitation. Not because they are not a great MU. They are. Just that after a brief stint in the USAF, I was in SHIELD for what I thought would be forever. Leaving SHIELD was one of the hardest decisions I made in this game. I didn't leave till it had been dead for a good while. What happened to SHIELD is one of the reasons I will never again trust the likes of wooky jack.

It's interesting how we can get so attached to things in this game, especially groups like that. I mean the people are still around and you can still play with them, but not having that same group is tough.

Yes, it is. And when they leave it always feels like a sort of betrayal.... especially if they leave the way wooky did.

Do you forgive him? Or is that bridge burned forever?

Forgive? Sure. Forget? Never. lol I'll talk to him, I'll be friendly even. but that's as far as I think that will ever go.

That’s fair. So now that you're fully into this game with a strong party and a strong MU- do you have any aspirations? Anything you'd really like to accomplish?

Honestly? I think I'm an anomaly when it comes to that... I'm very happy where I am. I am happy to do more if I can, but I'm not looking to ever be CP or anything like that. It's a crap job and if you do even an okay job you get crapped on. No thank you. And I obviously don't have the experience for it either. I'm sure I could do it, but it would take like half a year learning the ropes in some cabinet positions.

Is there a cabinet position you would want to try? Would you do any position, if asked? Just for the experience?

I would do something if asked... maybe. Never thought about it. The truth is, me becoming FBI chief was a little like that too. I was approached about any position and I said sure, I'll try whatever you need me to do, and that's what they needed.

Well that seems to have worked out. You're pretty good at it from what I've seen.

I hope so.

Do you have any MU goals?

Oh, well the whole airborne division has gotten me excited to be part of it. As to stealing from PFF, I wouldn't steal a SH from him, that's just too heartbreaking.... the two BH's I stole from him.... that was FUN!!!

The best part was listening to him discover what I was doing. That was fantastic.

And now he's paranoid about you swooping in.

Ye... I missed his second radio show, but people messaged me and I got a good laugh.

That was great! Is there anything you want me to include?

"stay proud, stay horny"

Oh shadowber. He’s one of those people that I knew I would be friends with immediately. He’s super easy to talk to and always down for whatever. I am happy to have him serving in the party, I’m happy to have him representing us in Congress and I’m glad to have him as a new bro. Shadowber is cool af, so if you don’t know him yet, get to it!
