Dear citizens of eIreland,

Firstly I would like to say thank you to the people in Omega Eireann who recently voted me in as Party President. While I will be the first to admit our numbers have dropped over the past year, we are still a political party with a voice that can be heard, a voice that we should raise when needed to ensure the betterment of all Irish citizens.

In this regards, everyone, not just Omega Eireann members, should look at running for congress. Whilst the amount of seats on offer is an unknown, as ePeru appears to be disregarding the so called 'Training War Agreement' which our CP signed, we can try and hope to have 3 regions which will work out to be 30 seats up for grabs. However before you run off to nominate yourselves, there is a few things you might need to know.




If you are thinking about running for congress, you must remember a few things in regards to your nomination and the game mechanics behind it all. A good site to read up on it is here and here. Some of the main points are:

- If a country loses or gains regions between 23rd 02:00 and 27th 00:00, the number of congress seats will not be modified.

- A country will have a congress if they have at least a region on every month on 23rd 02:00 and 25th 00:00 and 27th 00:00

So while we are meant to have 3 regions (hence 30 seats), things change, and when the time of cut off happens, ePeru might have retaken these 3 regions or Ireland might of gotten an extra one or two.

- If you applied for Congress in your party and the region from where you applied is conquered until 25th of the month at 00:00, you will lose candidacy.
You can avoid this situation if you are located in another region from your citizenship country until 25th of the month at 00:00. Once you got removed from the list, you can not be added back unless you reapply.

This means, whilst you might nominate yourself for congress in one of the Irish regions that are meant to be free (Cork, Mayo and Shannon), you might want to nominate elsewhere. After all, these 3 so called 'safe' zones have been taken by ePeru over 5 'accidental' times. So with this in mind, I personally would suggest you move to a safer nation before you nominate yourself, maybe a Serbian, US or China core region. As well as double check your still nominated just before the cut of time (the game wont give you a notification).

- Voting on proposals proposed by the President.
- Propose laws
- Accept citizenship requests

While some people might make a song and dance about a congress member proposing a law or voting against a law proposed, it is one of the rights of an elected congress member. However, if your lucky enough to be elected to represent the fine people of eIreland, you need to try and not be swayed by false promises, incorrect understanding of game mechanics or even by your own Party President (myself included) and instead try and ask question about the law and vote the way you feel is right.



How to become a candidate

So if you think this is all up your alley, you might be wondering how to nominate yourself. Well it is pretty simple, so follow these easy steps:

- Go to your party page - Click on Community - Party

- Click the button

- Read the statement and enter a URL for a presentation on why people should vote for you. This can be a newspaper article, a forum topic, or a link to your wiki citizen page.

- Click Agree

With peoples Holding Companies currently under hostile occupation with the repeated attacks against two of the three safe zones, I thought I would try and help some of you who might be struggling a bit. Dont worry, you can belong to any political party or none at all, you just have to be Irish and have an account older then 3 months.

So if you fit this criteria, please comment below 'Can I have some more?' and I will send you 1000 Q1 Food and 10 Q7 tanks, just so your not struggling in these trying times. Later on, if eIreland is still in this position, I will do another drop/giveaway with more supplies to ensure people can fight.




The next CP elections are still a while off, but one of the advantages of being the PP is that you can give your parties endorsement to a player to become the next CP. So if you think you have what it takes to be the next CP of eIreland (you dont need to be in Omega Eireann), please send me a message so I can bring it up with my fellow party members. All we ask is that you dont ignore the issues at hand...



Or worse yet, just bury your head in the sand and hope it all goes away...



After all, eIreland has had enough terms of that recently.
