Are you self-sufficient in your production of food? Are you looking to enlarge your economic standing within Canada? Are you new to the game and want to get your foot in the door of business? Well you’ve come to the right article.
I would like to see eCanada become more self-sufficient and economically stable. This can happen by each citizen becoming self-sufficient in their own food production, and even into their own weapon production. The more people that work as manager, the more money the eCanadian treasury receives in taxes, which means the more programs the eCanadian government could potentially fund, or the better stash of money the government can have in case of a hostile invasion upon our territories, or if we wanted to go to war. It also helps individual citizens to produce goods, which saves them from having to purchase these goods on the market, and also allows them to sell any extra goods that they have on the market to earn some extra cash.
What do I offer you?
I offer any eCanadian citizen the chance to receive some of my money with the understanding that it is to be used to create raw material companies. To receive the money from me, all you have to do is comment on this article with how much you would like to receive, and what kind of raw material company you will be creating. (Weapons raw materials or Food raw materials.) I expect that once you receive the money you will create the company you said you would create, and you would create the one valued at 8,500 cc.
When you ask for money, I will send you $17,000 cc, which can be used to buy two of these raw material companies. There is no necessity to repay this money back to me.

If you are creating a Food Raw Material company, create it in Alberta, as that is where all of our food bonuses are. The Weapons Raw Material company should be made in either BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or Ontario, though I would again recommend Alberta so you won’t have to move to work for food and weapons.
Once you have created the company, please make sure to work as manager in those companies every day to get the greatest benefit from this cash influx.

With the value of gold as it is, the 10 gold companies are more cost efficient, no?
While the initial buying price would be more cost effective, once you have received your Return on Investment, it would actually be more effective to have a higher quality company, such as the one at 8,500 cc cost. While with the value of gold currently, this is around double the cost of the 10 gold company for only a meager .5 more raw materials produced, the amount of taxes a player pays is the exact same for both companies. This can be the difference between being able to make a profit on a company versus not being able to profit, depending on the taxes paid to work as manager. If the amount produced can not sell for more than what the taxes paid, it makes no sense to work in said company. This also is a good reason to go for a higher production company, than a lower start up cost company, since it gives a better chance that the company can be profitable.
Also, in terms of what the initial cost to start the company is, if I'm paying it for them anyway, it makes little to no difference which company is created with regards to the individual player who receives the money. In fact, they would rather be able to create the more expensive start up companies, since they are not the ones paying for it, and yet it produces more raw materials to earn money with.
I always buy the Q5 RM. Absolutely no reason other than most bang for the buck as far as energy used. Takes 88 RMs to fully supply Q7 factories.

I've always bought Q5 raw because of the eventual ROI and WAM work tax plus the sheer volume of RM needed as input for food and weapons.
Weapons, obviously it's Q7 or bust. Q6 if you're a commune that doesn't have the cash to make the leap. I don't encourage private weapons companies as the ROI last time I checked was over a decade out. I don't think the air missiles were viable either when I checked but they're different anyways because you can't WAM them. I think houses are also a tough business so only suggest Q1, possibly Q2 if you're up for it, for communes.
For food it used used to be hands down Q2 when they used to have the regular sales. It was barely more expensive than two Q1s (identical productivity) with half as much WAM tax. Now it's basically three times the cost for two times the productivity so unless you really eat a lot or really don't want to spend a bit more energy each day working, Q1 probably makes the most sense with Q2 as an acceptably alternative if you're here for the long haul. Speaking of which, I don't think the ROI for the cost jump from Q2 to Q3 is also years out so not worth the cash.
I think it is very good to upgrade Q6 to Q7 weaps factory IF you have access to "easy" gold, which I do. Oddly I don't build any weapons as I usually have enough cash laying about to just buy off the market. I still have Q5 food production, WaMing the RM. So that saves quite a bit. Everyone needs to WaM their own Q1 or Q2 food. No reason not to.
I forgot about the "no WaMing" on missles. Makes the desirable to sell as most people will not make their own. That's how they screwed the econ in the first place.
Again, roi is pointless in a game such as this. Way back when the econ sort of worked roi was a factor. Now it's easier to throw rl cash into buying gold to pay for stuff.
The only reason ROI should still matter is when talking about food production.
Let's say a newb wants to get two Q1 food factories and two Q3 FRM companies to feed them. That's a 40 gold investment in order to get 400 Q1 food a day. After deducting the profit from the extra FRM produced, about 100 fod would have to be sold to pay the WAM tax.
Now let's say that that 40 gold were instead converted to cash, that would be about $18,000 enough for 100,000 Q1 food. If only eating 300 food a day, that's a 333 day supply.
Overall it actually looks like that basic set up isn't so bad right now. On the other hand, with wages so high - not even counting overtime - it's hard to make that investment look worthwhile ahead of upgrading training grounds.
I'll accept your math. 🙂 End of the day, eventually your food is essentially free.

I need 50 energy every day so I don't even bother with companies . I buy Q1 food from Lady Silver every few days and it is good enough for me 😃

I never really understand the push for self-sufficiency. There's no economic or strategic sense for everyone to make their own food. Especially considering how many players actually stick around. If all the money that was spent on the companies sitting in dead players account was invested with a living player, we'd all be rolling in Q7 weapons and food.
We don't suggest that everyone get a Q7 weapons company set up for themselves so why do we suggest that everyone make their own food? It's basically the same concept on a bigger scale but it's obviously a ludicrous idea.
Money is better spent setting up food companies with trustworthy players so that they can make food to feed the hungry. If you gave $17,000 to one player for each new player who joins eCanada, assuming one new player a day after a month you'd have nearly 20 Q1 food companies and the RM companies to with them after just one month.
Q7 weaps with fully WaMed RM (88 Q5) fully staffed is very expensive but does make a helluva lot of weaps. Ran as a commune we always had weapons and plenty to spare.
The food thing is simple. Cheap to set up your own Q2 WaM farm. Once it's set up you're done. If you find yourself running short just build another or upgrade if you are able. The only way to make money is multiple WaMing food factories. If your hiring people you'll go broke.
Best way for new people is to work in my Q5 food commune and get paid in weapons and food but no one is interested. This leaves the noob frustrated because the game is set up for failure unless you pay to play.
There's very little to argue there but I would say that since there is so little reason for new players to play, I don't see the benefit in suggesting that they spend money on it before quitting when there's an overabundance of free or commune food to be had.
I try to help people, they don't want help. Everyone is a loner in eRep I guess. I find it hard to get folks to take gold for TG upgrades. They don't believe me when I tell them they can earn extra gold by traing. So I gave up trying.
I mostly just can't be bothered. I think one day I'll put in effort again but I'm no longer lying to myself that it's going to be soon. I've got other priorities now and enough things to worry about, like the giant to do list I have at work and how I lie to myself (and pretty much everyone else outside my team and boss) about how I'm going to be done it all soon.
