An Independent Kind of Labour

Day 2,012, 14:42 Published in Ireland Ireland by The Irish William Wallace

I remember back when the Independent Labour Party first started, it seems like so long ago. I was a member of the Sons of Eireann party back during the Great December Revolution of 2010 and the Reconstruction Era. The SoE was crucial in the rebuilding of eIreland and once we took back our lands and the new eIreland was formed, I viewed it as time to leave the SoE and form a new left-wing political party.

I was a member of the 'old Labour' until November when I joined a short lived party called 'The Celtic League' whose mission was to form a pan-Celtic alliance. That aside, to explain the "Independent" in the ILP name, I labeled it that to pay respect to the glorious old Labour Party. I also wanted it to be a new party itself with no affiliation to the old Labour Party to respect its memory.

This new left-wing party was a beacon of hope where all left-wingers could unite under one banner in eIreland. By May 2011, we were in the top 3 parties along with the Fenian Brotherhood and SoE. It was the next month that the ILP jumped from 3rd to the largest political party in eIreland!

Since June 2011, the Independent Labour Party (ILP) has been the largest political party in eIreland except for five different months. We have a rich history of cool-headed leadership, professionalism (with a bit of fun), and radicalism in eIreland. We also, like all other political parties, have had our slumps and disappointments too. There have been wretched betrayals and two scandals (corrupted members acting outside the party to achieve personal ends). When you are the largest political party, you are susceptible to these things.

So please, new and more experienced players, JOIN US IN THE INDEPENDENT LABOUR PARTY! We encourage democratic procedure, fairness, social equality and respect, community building, and offer a semi-autonomous military unit called the Labour People's Army (formed by the merging of Labour's Army and the Irish People's Army)!
