A Word on International Affairs and Switzerland As Part Of It

Day 3,561, 10:27 Published in Switzerland France by Pulse0123

I've been sending out messages to country and other group officials in order to get a glimpse of international affairs today since I've been offline for quite some time now. Neither of those answered me which leaves me no choice but to write about the subject on a personal perspective. I would like for this article to reach as much people as possible so the comment section can become a debate place on this.

Open the world map. What do you see when you zoom out? Lots of lines dividing colours. Some colours are spread all across the globe. Some lines divide special shades of a colour from the rest of it. You can also see something which looks like fires.

The past had lots of players doing what this game was supposed to provide: fun. There were diplomats, military experts, invasions, blockades, strong alliances and everything was based on a very formal level of communication, like it's real life, some would say. As the game evolved, some on us didn't change. We kept the formality on diplomacy for example: we start negotiations at a prearranged meeting, we speak and we sign a document. Now it's a way more informal. You deal with this kind of stuff on a 5 minute conversation, because everyone is too lazy to get the fun. The real fun.

Alliances exist today and I'm kind of laughing sadness on the sole concept they lay on. Alliances were political and military blocks, they waged world wars, got countries and players together leaving long lasting friendships based on mutual action. Now, I see a country attacking another country whose alliance has members allied to members on the alliance of the attacking country who, by the way, has allies in a third alliance which has members allied with the second one. And I think I'm not the only one who's mindfucked by this.

The battling for resources was way more fun back then: connecting territories, renting whole regions, fully occupied countries and all based on alliance wars. What I see now is boring. You airstrike a Switzerland, get your bonus, get a deal and move on. When players get tired of the boredom, training wars get organized. You know, for achievements and profiles and killing boredom.

Oh, and dictators. Those bastards who got allowed to kill the rest of the fun I had here. Well, now they are disappearing. For good.

The world needs a reset. It needs no-lifers who are going to bring the fun back. But, until then, let's talk Switzerland.

Swiss foreign affairs are based on good relations with other countries. That's all. And it should be that way since we are just one of a dozen of other Switzerlands - places where players escape from the mass and find peace and fun.

I'm really glad when I heard we finally fixed our way with Slovenia. Oh, when I remember those times we had so much trouble even speaking to them. Or for them to us. Luckily, we grew up and started talking which I fully support as I want Slovenia, our neighbour for years now, not to feel even a slice of hostility from us. We never wanted hostilities, at least most of us didn't. Graubunden is and always will be a Swiss territory. What we give to others are just resources, and we get money from it, which we really need.

I tried to reach out to our Italian friends, but guess what I didn't get. I am glad to see we have contact with our French friends who were open to the possibility of a training war, which lays the basis for further political, military and social cooperation. I also tried to contact our Austrian friends, but guess what happened again. And I have no idea what's happening in Germany.

Swiss foreign policy should be based on current cooperation and deepening mutual relations with its neighbours. We need contact, we need treaties and we need mutual action on subjects of interest. We need to set an example for other smaller countries who struggle to survive in this political environment.

That's all for today.
Einen schönen Abend.
