[TUP] Policy debates, council openings and more

Day 3,527, 07:48 Published in United Kingdom France by Hell The Great

First and foremost, I'd like to thank everyone for voting, and remind those who didn't vote; it's only through engaging that we can guestimate activity. Regardless of how you vote, it's vital that members are at least getting involved in the process, and with votes totalling around 50% of membercount; we're either full of little ants or stuck in a rut.

Over the coming weeks, I'm hopeful that the work we all put in will go some way to mitigate the silence we find ourselves in, and in that vein I'd like to thank the following few people in advance for the effort they'll be putting in this month.

ACroc will be assisting with policy related work, as my Vice PP. His experience in all facets of the game, combined with his attention to detail will hopefully keep our policy discussions focused.

Paul T will be tasked with retention focused activities that we as a party can organize to try and improve engagement with existing members.

Dougal will essentially be our political whip, tasked with marking attendance, prodding our members in congress to pull their finger out, and ensuring that we're rallying our votes as effectively as possible.

Madelina will be focused on dealing with a recruitment drive, and utilizing the assets within the party to improve our media presence.

Anyone who has the time or interest to get involved, either get in touch with them, or PM me directly!

the real meaning of the above paragraph: revealed!

Anyway, onwards to the future. Dougal is impatiently waiting for those interested in getting involved to get in touch; so as well as replying to messages you've received, please ensure that you're adding Dougal as a friend. He sets up group messages that we use to comminuate in tandem with the group feed; to stay in the loop you'd be best adding him ASAP.

The first thing that a party needs, is of course, policy. These group messages are normally used for day-to-day tasks, but for the coming week, will be transformed into policy discussions. These policies will be split into external and internal.

External policy is that which we offer up as an improvement for the UK; ie, a policy that we will attempt to get enacted through congress, or government. The key focus of these policies is to avoid the tosspottery of old and focus on game mechanics, and of course, make things better in the eUK. As a party we have traditionally focused on iniatives for new players, and I see no reason for this to stop; but we must also ensure retention-based policies are included too.

Internal policy is quite simply, policies that will apply only to TUP members. Essentially, an outline of what any citizen (member/non-member) needs to do if they want the party's support (ie: congress elections/CP elections.) As well as that, we need to ensure we have continuous programs to ensure that our raison d'être doesn't fade from our focus: new player support.

So to members, prepare yourselves. The following weeks will need your input. Messages are annoying, but it's worth the hassle. The constant reminders to get involved are tiresome to receive but ten times as tiresome to send, so just be grateful you haven't been berated into mass-messaging (...yet).
