Greetings to all members of TUP and PCP. In a continuation of recent co-operation, TUP will once again be hosting PCP members this coming month. As things stand there are 3 confirmed candidates coming over, but on the 24th I'll be making a final decision based on activity and likelihood of competence; so as a final warning to all TUP sitting congress: do something, or miss out. Whilst TUP always strains to ensure that new and fresh faces are given opportunities, being new does not negate the high expectations we place on congress seats. During the past, due to a lack of candidates it was relatively easy to get a decent spot on our ticket. Not this month.
To all citizens who are not TUP or PCP members, should you feel that you are capable of offering activity to the UK Government, and UK congress, please feel free to join TUP and register your candidacy for congress. If it's a choice between an inactive TUP member, and an active non-TUP member, you'll be given priority on our list.
Whilst all parties claim to put the interests of the UK before their own, and have in the past done their best: I feel this open draft should be something that other parties consider going forward; consider this month a trial run that we at TUP are happy to take responsibility for: there is one simple requirement, apart from activity, which is of course no ants of any size.
Our congress policy discussions have been going on for a couple of days, but I'd like to remind everyone in council messages one final, polite, time it's impossible to restart the party engine alone; policy discussions are the bare minimum you should be getting involved in, blindly following discussions without commenting does not equal activity.
In summary;
TUP members; if you want something: do something.
PCP members; welcome aboard.
All others; if you're doing something: come do something in congress.
Finally, for all members (TUP/PCP/other) wishing to get on the TUP ticket, please note that starting this month, we are trialling safety deposits. If you are new and don't yet have 5g, message me to discuss how we can make it work. For everyone else either donate 5G to me, Paul Tyndale or Dougal. If you're uneasy about donating to TUP members as you're non-TUP, then feel free to leave the deposit with the PP of your current party, or give it to The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Huey Goerge. Should you donate to anyone other than myself, screenshot the donation and send me a picture.
The rules of the game are incredibly simple; contribute to congress, be active, and don't be a douche. Or an ant. If you play nicely, you'll get your deposit back at the end of the month. If you don't, it'll be donated to the UK Government.

Reminder: ALL candidates (minus those who get in touch and organize something with me) need to ensure they've put up a safety deposit: being useless, inactive or incompetent will result in this being forfeit, and given to the UK Gov to fund combat orders!
The deposit seems like an interesting idea. But will you only lose the deposit if you don't participate in discussions, or can you lose it if your discussion is deemed as trolling as well?
Are people really investing time in trolling these days?
Half of TUP messages in the congress mail group are accusations of trolling, so apparently yes. Knowing clearly what "play nice" or "don't be a douche" mean would help many players to decide if it's worth applying to this scheme or if they're better of donating the money to UK gov directly to save themselves the hassle.
So half aren't, right? I know that there's a vocal few that sometimes take things a bit personally, but ultimately no rule is there to punish outright: it's a forewarning for people to start afresh and approach things with a positive mindset. Should people take stuff too far (whether it's troll/complaints of troll/etc) then obviously the above will apply, and their gold will fund the UK Government.
As I said in the article, this applies to all people running on the TUP roster, which is of course, inclusive of TUP members.

You could look at it that way but to me it seems like a lame attempt at "glass half full" bs trying to gloss over your issues. Especially since those "vocal few" seem to be all that's left in TUP.
But that's not my issue with this scheme. What I meant to point out is that your party is notorious for excessively accusing others of trolling. Since it is your party who sets the terms for losing the deposit, it is important to know for possible applicants if the bar for losing your deposit due to "taking stuff too far" is as low as being called a troll by Madellina, Paul, Dougal or someone else from your party?
TUP congresspeople: A summary
Actives believe they are the highest moral authority and pass random judgements here and there without coming up with anything all that new themselves, and generally providing relatively useless analysis of new things others come up with. All others are basically dead.
Were I in your position I'd be incredibly watchful and critical over what a "contribution" actually consists of, and remove the don't be a douche rule altogether. I've found congressmen work better if they're given some leeway to trigger dougal and Madelina
Why haven't TUP and PCP merged yet? Your continuing love affair is an affront to humanity itself.
