[SIP] A Handy Guide and Political Solicitation

Day 2,858, 19:00 Published in USA United Kingdom by actualguns

Greetings,

My name is Uncle Shylock and I am the Councillor of the Social Imperialist Party. I will not be boring you with details about the party until I have provided you with value. I would really like to talk about my party, so I intend on informing you about the potential to increase your earnings, xp gains, and strength doing nothing more than purchasing a single Q1 home each week.

What is this bit about purchasing a single Q1 home each week?

Simple.

A Q1 house will last for approximately 168 hours.
Each hour that a Q1 house is active, it will generate 1 overtime point.
The redemption of 24 overtime points will allow you to work 'overtime'.

Before we rush off to purchase a brand new home, we should calculate the cost of each ticket and determine whether or not purchasing the house is a wise investment.

You can do this in two ways:

( House Cost / 7 )
OR
(( 24 * ( House Cost / 168 ))

Both are equally informative.
The first formula will tell you the overall cost of each overtime ticket.
The second formula will tell you how much each hour of usage will cost you (House Cost / 16😎, and the full formula will yield the same answer as the first.

We will then need to compare the cost of the ticket to the revenue that one would receive.

At the time of writing, the average of the top five wages is $83.50. However, recall that unless you have an agreement with your employer (which I shall discuss later in the article), you will be paying 15% on your wage. This means that your click is worth approximately $70.98 at the time of writing.

Your net wage can be calculated using the following formula:

(1 - tax rate) * gross wage

Does this mean I need to go buy a house?!

Not precisely.

You need to compare your overtime ticket cost to the net wage that you will be receiving.

If
Net Wage - Overtime Ticket Cost > 0, purchase a home
Else
Do not purchase a home

Other considerations:

Discussion for lowering the work tax (in the US, for my foreign readers) is now be discussed on the forums. While the chances are slim, a decrease in the work tax – with all inputs held constant – will increase the amount that you receive (or reduce the amount that you lose) from the house.

Wages may increase or decrease. I have been informed that overtime points do not expire. If you believe wages will change to your favor (increase) or against you (decrease) and you feel comfortable not using your work tickets in conjunction with your regularly scheduled work clicks, you can hold your tickets and utilize them at a more favorable moment.

As I deterimed it immaterial, the cost of the additional 10 energy utilized is not built into the model. However, if you would like to make sure that you do not end up losing 35 cents (as of current market rates), simply adjust the formula to state: Net Wage – (Overtime Ticket Cost + Energy Expense).

Where Energy Expense is equal to:
Cost of Food / Units of Health Provided) * 10

Note: Some quality of foods will generate slack, meaning that you will be given more health than you need to click. Do not add this cost into the cost of the home. You should only consider the additional expense if you have to utilize food in an unfavorable manner ( Food gives 4 energy units, you have to use three units of food, you only have 10 health remaining in your pool, thus, you need to add the additional two units of energy to the cost of the click)

If you are a fighter, you will gain four clicks from the purchase of a Q1 Home. The four clicks of additional capacity comes from the fact that a Q1 Home provides an additional fifty health, less the addition of one additional click for work each day. These additional fights may provide additional income if combat orders are present AND the cost of producing the damage is less than the combat order reward.

If I have forgotten something, that is quite common.

Anywho, I promised I would not talk obsessively about my party until I had provided you with something of value. I believe I have done so. The Social Imperialist Party is one built by individuals who like creating fun communities outside of this game, enjoy spending time with one another, and who are generally intelligent (except for me of course!).
If you are interested in coming up with nifty ideas and like to solve problems – we are the party for you.

Sincerely,

Uncle Shylock
Councillor of Social Imperialist Party
