[MoFA] End of term!

Day 2,385, 04:29 Published in Ireland Spain by Minino.

Hey guys,

This has been quite a strange month here in Ireland. Our first CP got impeached because of him going rogue and Mirek, who I thank for the support and trust given, took his place. So, lets try to summarise all what has been and is actually going on.

1. Daniel Plainview: impeached

As mentioned before, our initial CP was impeached and Mirek came up. Our National Treasury was saved and only a tiny amount of money was stolen. It could have been worse! This did not affect us internationally and our image abroad was not damaged at all, fortunately.

2. Bringing relations closer with Mexico

2.1 Mexico’s situation

Just in case you do not remember, they were wiped by Colombia and they signed a NAP. Mexico had to pay Colombia 90k cc for war costs and they recovered all their original regions. You can see the Mexican official article by clicking here.

Because of some circumstances certain candidate was elected in their CP elections. This candidate was inactive and he did not live up to any of Aurora’s member expectations, nor to national ones. He therefore got impeached and a new government was formed.

Their trial membership in Aurora was highly questioned during this period, but they managed to solve things and this new government was quite committed with the alliance. They apologised for not having taken part of the alliance activities. Not to mention, Ireland was totally in favour of keeping Mexico in our alliance: before and after the election of Mexico’s new government.

They also maintained a TW with Portugal, something which caused a little problem because communication between them and Chile failed for several reasons. Still, it was nothing serious.

2.1 Painting the house red!

We mixed both Tequila and Guinness fighting all together for Latvia in Kurzeme. Saturday 24th, IRC Rizon channel #mexire. We fought side by side: we paid some COs and all Irish and Mexicans were given Q7 tanks thanks to donations and their government support.

It was great: it clearly strengthened our already great relations and we will never forget it! We had lot of fun and we helped our allies. ¡Muchas gracias, México! Thank you very much.

3. South Korea

We tried South Korea to have Congress after more than 2 years of occupation, but it was not possible. May 23rd, Taiwan conquered South Korea’s only remaining region before they landed here in Ireland and nothing could be done: due to game mechanisms the AS failed.

We were extremely sorry for them. We, Ireland, are always willing to assist old allies in their path to freedom. It was not possible this time, even if quite a lot help was given by our alliance, Aurora. I am sure we will make it next time.

All in all, it was a great experience and it showed a clear message to the worl😛 Ireland will always be available to help our closest friends, even if we are a small country. Indee😛 we are made up of a small community, but values is something we do take into consideration.

Moreover, and this is something which I adore, Ireland is tolerant with foreigners in a national and foreign level, something I had the chance of proving myself. Of course, South Koreans are welcome if they wish to establish here for a while.

4. Participation inside Aurora’s HQ

Ireland has always been active in Aurora’s HQ. We feel part of our alliance, being a founder member. For that reason and because of our players’ experience, we are used to have representatives in this supranational organisation.

I personally worked last month as Aurora’s Public Relations Director, giving the official newspaper some activity. This month I was proposed and elected SG, but I ended up resigning. For more information, you can click here.

The current SG is Don Croata, a player we all know here in Ireland.

5. India, Italy and some game from the UK!

We have been talking to Indian and Italian representatives till the beginning of the month, two awesome pro-Aurora countries. India organised a logo design competition for all Aurora citizens. However, the person sponsoring it was banned. This did not affect our cooperation level, and our fantastic MoE organised a contest directed to India in return

Furthermore, an initiative between the MoE and this ministry regarding Junior Ambassadors has been approved. Our plan is to appoint young players as ambassadors for them to learn about politics, being myself the mentor. Activity is what they’ll make them to succeed! It will probably start to work next month.

We have been talking with some Italian representatives too, mainly ambassadors. They sometimes had questions and we were glad to answer them. Thanks for all!

Our British neighbours organised a strategy game for both Ireland and Britain. It has been a nice idea and we hope further initiatives such as this to continue and gain more protagonism. We really appreciate it!

6. Ukraine

Ukraine recently experienced a baby boom. They know they can count on us in case they need anything. With the changes Plato added to the game about divisions we know baby booms are right now difficult to handle, but we wish them best of luck!

Keep it up, Ukraine! Do not hesitate to contact us if necessary.

7. MPPs and Sirius

At the beginning of the month we wanted to sign a MPP with Mexico but because of our low income we told them we could not. They offered us to pay our part of the MPP: 10k cc. We felt that was unacceptable, and so we made an effort, paid our part and signed it. Thanks, Mexico, for the interest shown! Thanks again.

We renewed our MPPs with Croatia, Macedonia and Chile too.

Regarding Sirius, the US was expelled from the alliance. We signed a MPP with the US last month and it was good having them as an ally: we wish our neighbours the best and we are somehow pleased aggressions against Canada stopped.

To end up with, I would like to thank Germany and The Netherlands for being always so nice to us!

Our IRC channels are #Eire and #Eire.fa | Feel free to join us. Thanks for all!
