[Event] Halloween

I have always enjoyed reporting about holidays & festivals, so that’s all this will be~
Halloween in North America
This holiday is becoming one of the most exciting holidays for North America. Adults dress up and party, kids go door to door trick or treating. Although there has been some issues lately where it has been dangerous, overall it is a ton of fun for everybody that celebrates. Kids trick or treat and adults party all night. The night before is devil’s night where vandalism is a big problem in some states.
Mexico will be celebrating the (beautiful) day of the dead, a time for family and celebrating ancestors.
Halloween in Japan
Halloween is not a huge holiday in japan. Depending on the school/city they may have some small event for kids, but otherwise it is just an excuse to party and dress up. (Otaku’s!) Since the holiday is more popular with adults, it’s obviously most popular around clubs. The holiday has only begun to pick up, personally, I would love to see it widely celebrated so we can have some Halloween inspired Animu & JDorama. ^-^
lol hardo-gay…
I am from a country that doesn’t celebrate Halloween, so I didn’t get to grow up with the hoards of candy. How are you guys celebrating Halloween?

Halloween was a Celtic Holiday called Samhain. Not many celebrated it due to its pagan history until about mid-20th century. I used to go trick or treating but I am too old for that now.
I have a pumpkin patch in my front yard and our porch is decorated with giant spiders.
We get a few hundred kids through my neighborhood every year so I'm going to be drinking a few beers and handing out chocolate for a few hours.
Two years back a little girl came dressed as a mouse. I saw her coming down the street and got ready.
She got some cheese as well as candy and she got so excited. "I got cheese!", Best response yet.
In Hungary we don't celebrate Halloween. Some people does but it's much more just friends have fun with costums. 😛 We "celebrate" All Souls' Day in November 1-2 but it's not so funny. We are remembering of our deceased loved ones on this day and we go outside to the cemetery.
But I live in Sweden so I can tell you about this too. 🙂
Swedish people (mostly the young ones) likes Halloween. They go outside and trick or treat and the older ones (when the night's coming) go outside and get drunk. They are yelling so much and I never can sleep at home. -.- xD

Hey Grandpa 🙂
The old spirits of this place awaken by Halloween, know and remember you. Half Swedish half American, half animefan.

In Southern Germany there was a pumpkin festival. Kinda fun if you are a child, like pumpkins, eating and/or smashing them... You get to take some pumpkins home for free too.
