Rainy sunshine wrote this. I am using it without his consent. It's an actually interesting post, that everybody who sees this will have already read.
;ddddd

I would put Emerick, Frost, Colin, Max, and HR in a separate group from others listed. Unless I'm mistaken, it was HR that established irc use in the first place. Those people were idea people and delivered. They put in the legwork to get it done.

Pfeiffer also busted his ass but he'll tell you THAT HE RUNS A MULTI ARMY TO DESTROY FRANKLIN STONED. He's also stated on numerous occasions his game was winning elections. He cared a lot less about the rest personally. His strength to compensate for that disinterest was good delegation. Frost was like this at times too.

Oblige existed as a low activity fringe mil player for a good time before venturing into politics or national work. He's always used his money to leverage for personal gains. There's nothing wrong with that really but it wears thin when you're that self-absorbed and not that great at the rest of the game. Oblige is also paranoid. Compounded by rejection.

MOLLY EMMA SUCKS.(sic)

Tyler and Israel were both above average. Less so in more recent times but who isn't? Tyler deserves more credit for behind the scenes work than he was ever given but as a face man, idk, sort of insular. Israel is a fantastic storyteller when he's interested and knows what's going on. He can also be an ignorant asshat and revisionist. should of, would of, could have 😉 He is a great reporter though.

Gnil is clumsy. He's a sensationalist and plays his game his way, oftentimes oblivious or indifferent to others outside of his fandom. Like Oblige, nothing wrong with that. Unlike Oblige, I believe Gnilraps does have good intentions for the community at large, not strictly furthering himself.

Wild Owl. Excellent at what he does when he does it. Maybe too specialized. My only criticism would be sporadic media and low information sharing. The most recent FA blurbs he added to WHPR were awesome. I don't think a return of the ambassador program that once existed is necessary but those kind of reports really help create something to point to when newbies have strings of questions. (Personally I hesitate to send anyone to ask him questions themselves because I don't want him to associate them with me. Alternately, idk I wasn't involved and not paying attention where i'm a pariah.)

What good decisions are left to be made that aren't already dictated? (either by the game or the established base)

I've always sort of teetered on the create busywork for retention tactic. It can be good when it serves a purpose and isn't just another nothing task assigned to a small handful of already over-extended individuals to suck up their time that could be better spent doing fun. But I'll use Kodos and enderaggie as examples since those two occupied roles for 5-6 years with zero turnover. Stability is great but how does the next guy get a chance if lower to mid-level or strictly behind-the-scenes roles are occupied and the senior person does not want to engage in the rest of the game? You make something else up for them to do... but what to add value or earn trust? (These are typically apolitical or military-minded/organizational roles) Also: Kodos/enderaggie 2016

i dunno. Some players are natural showmen and can engage and motivate using media, mail, and shouts alone. Others prefer lowkey behind the scenes work. I don't think the invisible workers or day-to-day 2-clickers are less valuable just because they're not in hyperdrive I NEED YOUR APPROVAL OR ADMIRATION. There is a limit to how long they'll tolerate being taken for granted or called lazy/stupid though.
